Default Strange problem

I have a 2010 journey. i am getting a clicking noise similar to a baseball card in a bike wheel.it only happens when i turn on the fan for about 30 to 45 seconds then quits, but sometimes i can come out in the garage and its making the noise.also sometimes the noise will start when i open the car door.i have unplugged the actuator that is behind the glovebox door and the noise stops.is the actuator bad or out of time can it be reset somehow. thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds as if an air blender actuator gear is either
broken/binding up.
Do you just get cold air/hot air and can you air paths
floor/floor & top vents work?

everything seems to be working fine as far as switching from floor to vents to defrost. its just the noise that bothers me,and i am worried eventually it will break something . do you know how hard it is to take that actuator out to inspect it.thanks for the input.

The blender mixes warm/cold to achieve desired temps coming out
of vents - does this appear to be working when you adjust?

yes it does switch the air movement from floor to defrost to vent. the air temp is ajustible from either the rt or lt side control

Well if you have all that working it
would seem to me that the actuating
of the gear is the problem - you may have
a cracked/broken tooth in the gear drive.

If you have a noise, take your smart phone and make a recording...post it somwhere and link it.
