Has anyone figure out what is happening with these horns just randomly going off? I don't see any responses and have taken it to the dealership three times already in less than two weeks. I have a Dodge Journey 2014

There is a plate in steering wheel that warps and makes contact with horn wiring causing the horn to work. Had a journey that did this and that was the problem.

I had this replaced and it's still happening. I had to remove the fuses and drive without a horn. Now there seems to be something drawing on my battery over night. The doors unlock by themselves at some point during the night and the windshield wipers are in an up position. Any ideas? The last visit was over a thousand dollars because they had to replace something for an engine light too and neither problem was fixed. It seems no one seems to actually know what the issue is and it's expensive trial and error.

Default Check your wiring

Mine started doing the same thing about 2 months ago. When I was sitting at a stop light on a hill some moron was just laying on their horn at this red light and bumping the horn like crazy, kept looking around at who this ahole was and everyone was too. Well light turns green we all take off and the honking stops.... thinking to myself glad to get away from that moron. Well got home park the Journey and didn't think about anymore.....until my neighbor comes beating on the door 30 mins later..screaming "Can you please turn off that dang horn!!" I step out sure enough my horn is just wailing away.....and I think yup I was that moron at the traffic light (smh). Well tore into the front end and found that the wiring had chaffed at 2 spots and was grounding out on the radiator crossmember and the horn mounting bracket. Rewired the harness making the wires a little longer cuz they seemed a little short and wrapped it with a small length of rubber hose. Haven't had an issue since.

I will have to check this. Thanks. Did you notice your wipers move? Even with the key off?

no my wipers don't go off randomly, may also be a ground issue in the wiring.

I have had these same problems for a while till my battery would not stay charged anymore. Took it to a friend who is a mechanic after we had replaced fuse box cause we read where it was the problem wrong. My friend had it a couple days investigated the issue replaced the horn button. Horn no longer going off and car staying charged. Horn button was faulty keeping the relays open and causing battery to stay drained. Hope this helps someone else. Good luck

It seems that it is my turn for this problem. Horn started going off early this morning. What a beautiful thing for my neighbors, too! I just pulled the fuses for the horn for now. I had noticed the day before that the ABS light came on for no apparent reason. After I turned off the car and restarted it, that went away, but I suspect the problems are related to a battery issue of some kind. It would have been convenient to have an ampere gauge.

Unhappy 2011 RAM 4th generation with same issue

randomly horn will go off; now have to keep keys handy as I never know when it will go off. Living north of 60th parallel we don<t have a dodge dealer here who can troubleshoot so any insite would be appreciated.
I have had a few dodge products in my life but this is the first.
