Hello Anthony,
I was hoping you would be able to provide a break down of your steps you took to fix the wiring issues. It would be very helpful as I have been having the same issue. I think this is causing the relay for the blower to short out.

Well light turns green we all take off and the honking stops.... thinking to myself glad to get away from that moron. Well got home park the Journey and didn't think about anymore.....until my neighbor comes beating on the door 30 mins later..screaming "Can you please turn off that dang horn!!" I step out sure enough my horn is just wailing away.....and I think yup I was that moron at the traffic light (smh). Well tore into the front end and found that the wiring had chaffed at 2 spots and was grounding out on the radiator crossmember and the horn mounting bracket. Rewired the harness making the wires a little longer cuz they seemed a little short and wrapped it with a small length of rubber hose. Haven't had an issue since.
Read through the numerous threads on that subject in this section. It’s not uncommon but there seems to be no consensus on what the fix actually is.
Had the same issue with my 2010. Horn went berserk and wouldn’t stop one day when my wife was coming home from work. Disconnecting the fuse hid the problem for a while until the battery kept draining. Then one day when it just wouldn’t start. Checked the usual culprits, (alternator, battery)- All good. Finally my local mechanic discovered that the horn switch was failing and engaging the horn circuitry causing the drain. (But with the fuse removed there was no other symptom). It’s been a month now and it still starts! Now if I could get the fob to work and some heat I’d be set!
Hi my name is Tyler, I’m a 48 year old transsexual who retired from the railroad. Recently I have been waking up in the middle of the night with my horn randomly honking. Come to find out it is my dead mom who was buried on the property does any mechanics have any advise on how to fix this? My neighbors will be thankful and I will be well rested. PLEASE HELP!
Our son left for college last week. His car is just sitting in the driveway not being used and the horn is randomly beeping.

Take you electric 🔐 ,then
take the regular 🗝️ out then slowly pop open the electric one and change the battery!I had this problem for past two weeks in middle of night and driving down road, then a friend of mine mentioned to do that, and I tried it and last 2 days no horn honking.Easy fix!

Any new answers for this ( why isn't this a recall)
My Dodge Journey horns also keeps honking, but not sure what resolves to this issue. Has any one heard anything new on this? Mine keeps honking and I don’t know what to do other than I had to pull the horn fuse for now.

Faulty clock spring has been noted as one of the issues with the horn randomly honking.
I will have to check this. Thanks. Did you notice your wipers move? Even with the key off?
I think I found the issue. I tested it several times and it worked. There is a small metallic peace in the car key (you can see two small pieces on the 2nd part from the left). I found the one in the center detached. I have reposition it and glued it back. I have to do it every 6 months as it become loose again with time and with the exact same result : horn going off randomly 24/7.
Hi Linda,
I know this was almost a year ago but did you ever get a resolution to your random beeping issue? I am blessed with this plus the random click only on starting, replacing brakes, battery more than reasonably should have to. I have been to the dealer numerous times but only get the run around and lied to, sadly.
I haven't taken it to be looked into but the horn sadly just had to disconnect. As for the clicking when you go to start it I did find a solution to that and thus far it started every time.
Turn the car on accessory, put it in neutral, put your foot on the brake so it doesn't move and then start it. It has started every time I use that trick.
