A/c issues
I have a 2019 Dodge Journey sxt! The a/c compressor was replaced last year and it was down coolant but no leaks found! This year I brought it to the dealership and it was bone dry and again no leaks found even with the dye! Both dealership and warranty company admitting it’s not normal but won’t cover because nothing is being found! Please help!!
its at the dealership! They ran diagnostics! Told me the system was bone dry! But can’t find a leak! Refilled and charged and added dye! Still can’t find a leak! Everything I’m reading is that’s not normal especially being only 3 yrs old with less than 50k miles should not be having issues like that! Dealership wants nothing more to do with it and to give it back! With an oh well attitude! So I’m looking for possible causes! Cause I’m at a loss with no help from them
So normally I wouldn't consider this issue because your journey is so young but just in case let's go.
How long does your AC hold up after they fix it before it quits working? Is it a few months? There is definitely a leak because they said the system was dry suggesting that it's purging somewhere. Likely they're looking outside at the lines or the coil. You would know of it was purging inside because you would smell it and it would coat your windshield. So my thought is the one place people always overlook. Has anyone checked the Schrader valve inside the low side port? It's the smaller of the two ports. Sometimes the rubber O-Rings in these calves get pinched and they leak.
