Default slight knocking noise in dash area

Hi Guys,
Has anyone experienced a slight but annoyingknocking coming from the corners in the upper dash area? This seems to occur just below where the windshield meets the dash in both the driver and passenger side. Thanks in advance!

Typically, low speed driving. Doesn't matter if cornering or breaking. It appears that it may be coming from the metal clips that hold down the trim that covers the bottom of the windshield. Body movement may be causing these clips to move around in the holes that they are fastened to.

There is a TSB to fix this. They remove a screw around the right corner of the dash and the "popping" noise goes away.
I thought it would have been fixed on the '07's by now though. Mine is an '05.

Turns out it was the hood alignment adjusting bolts. Just needed to be turned in slightly to stop them from hitting a bracket.

Seems i have the same problem. Do you suggest i take it to dealer to adjust the alignment bolts or is this something i can do myself? Do i turn out away from vehicle or tighten even more?

Such a very annoying knocking!!

Tried looking for the TSB to show dealer if i took it in, but unsure if you have to take the dash apart to access the bolts the other poster mentioned...can't be good removing parts\

Let me know if i should have the professional do it.

Thanks.

Just back out the hood adjusting bolts slightly, maybe one turn. Or, also try putting a small piece of rubber where the bolt and stopper meet.

ok, sounds like a good try to me. what is the easiest access to these? Since i have not had to do this before do i need to remove the cover by the lower windshield and wiper arms with a screwdriver or special tool?

i took it into the dealer said they fixed it by doing the tsb and removing the top panel of dash (fingerprints galore from the tech) but the popping/knock is still at each corner. When i put pressure on the hood top corner i can hear the similar noise outside.

Hopefully it is not too hard to do.

As a side note, my tie rod ends are shot now but under warranty. Didn't think there were too many issues with this car but now not sure.

Let me know if easy access and if they are indeed located under the hood outside to adjust out and will update once i have done this.

Thanks for your help.

Just needraise the hood. You will see the bolt at each hood hinge. Just back it off slightly and it should go away.
