ESP/BAS Light on after starting..??
Hi All....I Hope someone has had this problem before. It is currently at the dodge dealer as we speak and I have been there 2x before for the same problem..
The ESP/BAS light stays on after cranking. It does this very intermitantly. Most of the time it does not come on. When it does, it is always after sitting for several hours or the first thing in the AM or in the afternoon after work. Also, when it does stay on it seems to be afterlonger than normal cranking. Most times it cranks right up, but sometimes it seems to take longer than normal, thats when when it starts the light sometimes stays on.......
Hope some one has had this problem begore and can help...
THANKS

You may have a bad steering angle sensor or clockspring. Also ck for codes too. If there is an active code and the tech that is working on it, is having problems clearing the code send a PM and will tell him or her how to clear it.
Still at the dealer.......They cant duplicate the light on. The stored code does says something about the steering sensor but they say it is OK. Also saidit set some code dealing with the Radio..??
Bottom line they have no clue.....quess ill pick it up and see what happens.

I get the same symptom 1 out of 20 times I start the Hemi I notice that the beast takes longer than normal to fire up ( it already takes longer to crank than my Chevy ). 9 out of 10 times that it take longer the BAS/ESP light stays on. If I shut'r'down and crank'r'up again then all is well till the next time. The very first time it happened I drove it with the light on and noticed a decrease in performance but now that I restart it each time both the light and performance drop go away. But for how long? Has anyone come to the bottom of this mistery??? I feel like I'm just paying for wanting to own a Hemi and the fact that it's put in Dodge cars...but I love my Magnum. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
