new 06 Magnum SRT8 still on the lot..why didn't it sell?
My 1st post with you folks. I'm not a dodge owner (yet?) I was car shopping and saw my Dodge dealer still has a new 06 red SRT8 Magnum on the lot with their original sticker price $43K /MSRP $39K. After driving it and haggling about it, they offered me 2K below Employee discount price, about 32K, plus they'll throw in navigation. And they'll even give me more than my trade in is worth! Seems like a good deal to me, an SRT8 cheaper than an RT.
I'm worried about why a premium performance vehicle that should have had a waiting list, is still collecting dust and they're acting desperate to sell it. Maybe gas prices?
What's the real world MPG you SRT8 guys get?
Do the SRT8's have the system that the RT has thatshuts down cylinders for MPG improvement?
Does it tow, if so , more than 3500lbs?
I'm duplicatingthis in the Magnum and SRT8 forums. Any input is appreciated.

theSRT does not have the MDS system like theR/T has. also, no towing with a SRT.one dealer by me still has a 2006 300 SRT that they can't sell.
another dealer also had a 2006 300 SRT for over a year before they did a dealer trade on it. i think it is alllocation. SRT's just don't sell over here. trucks are number 1.

Hello,
Bought my SRT8 about 6 weeks ago. Only prob I am having is sleep. When I park it for the evening, I am so excited about the next day when I get back in it and hear the 6.1 rumble, its all I can do to get my head in the pillow.
Mileage, 11 - 12 in town. You might get a tad better than me. I have the 3 1/2" magnaflow exhaust on it. Not sure if that reduces mine or not. Now, on the road, the best I have seen is 22.6 at 70 mph.
You question on the RT verses the SRT8. The SRT8 is the beast of the two. RT has an 5.7 engine.
Keep in touch on your purchase. Keep a hammer on their head, they need to unload that car for the 08's coming in. ( i work at a dealership too)
Bye
Terry

are you sure about the 3 1/2" exhaust system. the system you talk about uses 2 3/4" tubing and 4" tips. no one makes a 3 1/2" system that i know of. there is a 3" corsa system for the srt, but that is the biggest one out there.
I will search around, I saw itsomewhere in my paperwork, it said 3.5. Just went outside thought, calipers read between 2.997- 3.128. Didnt measure the tips.
