Bigger tire for SXT
I'm planning to purchase an SXT for my better half in the near future and would like to upgrade to better (performance) tires. Planning to go with either the Dunlop Sport A2 or the Pirelli P Zero Nero in 235/55/17. Will it fit ok with the stock wheels?

AS ON TIRERACK.COM
215/65R17 (Stock SXT)
28.0038" diameter
17X7" rim
tire width 8.6"
225/60R18 (stock on RT)
28.6299" diameter
18X7.5" rim
tire width 9"
235/55R17
27.1772" diameter
rim 7-8.5" so they fit on stock rims
tire width 9.2"
If a RT owner could do a lock to lock check on the front tires and see if there is about a 1/4" room then they should fit.
There is also the wheelspacer option if it dont. Also there is some debate on wether or not the PCM can be re-programmed for different tire sizes or only between the stock tire sizes. There is an .8266" difference on heigth, which means there will be .4133" more gap at the wheelwells than stock.

I put Blizzacs that are 235/55R18. I haven't noticed any problems other than the car wants to drift even more now..... the alignment never did seem quite right and with the wider tires it seems even moreso....
The car defineatly looks meaner being about with the tires being about a 1/2" shorter.
