Default Transmision Fluid Dump

HELP!

My 05 Magnum R/T with only 17,000 miles on it hemorrhaged all of its transmission fluid last night.
It seems to be coming from the passenger side above the exhaust, lots of smoke. I tried to put some in just to get it to move from the road but it pumped it out as fast as I could pour it in.
I'm concerned for my resale value so I do not want to rush to the dealer if I don't have to. I had it towed to my driveway so it's waiting my next move.
Is this a known problem? Anyone have any ideas before I start tearing it apart?

Thanks for reading in any event.

I have only seen it dump out when the transmission was over filled. The fluid comes out the vent on top of the transmission.

Mine leaked trans fluid also. Heard of quite a few '05's doing this. Mine also happened around 17K miles. Took it to the dealer and they replaced a seal and harness under warrenty.

Hi and thanks for your input.

I took a look underneath today and only found trans fliud all over everything. I plan on putting more fluid in tomorrow to try and see just where it's leaking from.
When yours leaked did it dump all the fluid out as mine did?

Well I'll post an update tomorrow when I've learned more.

Tks
