Default Just got an e-mail back from dynatech headers

I wrote these folks this morning, after researching headers back systems on the hemi trucks, their setup seems to be pretty well matched, and a bolt up application. Here's their response:

Hi Bill

We have designed our SuperMaXX system for the Dodge Magnum Hemi. The only thing would be if they will fit the AWD. We have not had an AWD to check fitment issues yet. If you would be interested please let us know, the production run should be available in 6 to 8 weeks.

Thanks for your interest in Dynatech Headers.

unfortunatly from what I read on another forum they are going to be rediculously priced, $1,295.00, heck it didn't even cost $1000 for headers + a cat back exaust on my dakota, headers and cat back exaust on the magnum is almost $2300 msrp, I wish they would stop with the price gouging on magnum perfomance parts.

$1300 doesn't seem that bad a price to me, from the headers/2 high flow cats, and y pipe collector. Then I'll end up spending another $950 for the magnaflow cat back section for a grand total of $2300 like you said. I come from a enthusiast group that pays $1250 for the headers ONLY for the straight six bmw engines from supersprint.

Are these going to be full length 4 into 1 tuned headers? Are they going to be coated (Jet Hot, etc.)? I assume that this will convert it to a true dual setup... if that is the case, the price really isn't that bad. I paid $1K for a set of custom 4 into 1 headers for my Impala SS, they were tuned to the engine, and coated.

Is there a link with more information on these? Would be very interested as long as they are not shorty headers...

There is no printed (that I know of) documentation from dynatech on the magnum headers, I'm basing my guesstimates on the hemi truck headers they had available, I would guess they are going to be similar in design (long or short, 4-1, that type of similarities), so you can see that product here

These aren't coated, but atleast they are stainless steel.

Thinking out loud here:

How many O2 sensors does the Magnum have? I have not crawled under to look... I assume that there is at least one before and after the catalytic converter (OBD-II)...

Does the Magnum have 1 or 2 catalytic converters? I am assuming there is one and the exhaust splits to dual after that... if you were to convert the Magnum to a true dual exhaust, you would have to modify the PCM to have an additional bank of O2 sensors... and that would probably involve another wiring harness (and more O2 sensors)...

Do they make kits like this for the Magnum?

Again, I am working on no knowledge of what the bottom of my car looks like, so please forgive me if these are silly questions...

what do you mean converting the magnum to a true dual exaust, it already has a true dual exaust, and 2 catalytic converters, one for each side, you can see the placement of them in this picture.
