Is "SRT" basically "AMG"?
Is Chryslers SRT division the same principle as Mercedes AMG?
Are there any tuner companies that specialize in DODGE/Chrysler like Mercedes has "Brabus" "Rentech" "Carlson" " Lorinsor" "AMG" ??

Yes, same principle. On that note,I got the SRT update for the 2006 model year. No Magnum this year, the 300C looks awesome and the power is unbeleivable as well as bigger brakes, 4-piston calipers with cooling ducts and suspension mods with a lower stance. Keep your fingers crossed for maybe a mid-year release of the Magnum.
SRT = AMG- kinda sorta. Brabus, Koenig and AMG were all German companies that sprang up to cater to the ultra rich that wanted to go REALLY fast on the autobahn and didn't care how much it cost and weren;t satisfied when showrooms didn;t provide what they wanted - the US doesn't have anything to compare to this with the possible exception of race track duty - but it's really not in the same ballpark - tracks have all sorts of regulations so you don't see dual turbos or twin superchargers on V-12s etc. Mercedes finally saw the light and purchased AMG. The reason for SRT is the same lesson Mercedes learned before they bought AMG - people WANT fun and exciting cars even if they don't buy one when they leave the showroom, an SRT helps to get them in there in the first place so they can buy a box. Historically Dodge has had some companies that produce parts to eke out some extra horsepower but they rarely if ever went as far as whole car tuners. So SRT provides the same function as Mercedes captive AMG but an SRT is not quite a full up Koenig.
Keep your fingers crossed. I have buddies at DCX, and they told me that the magnum SRT8 is a go, but the launch date is undetermined unlike 300 SRT8 which will be launched and sold early next year.
And yes, SRT is basically Chrysler Groups verson of MB's AMG division, except the CG and MB don't work together to develop the tuned vehicles. They are separate divisions within the company.

Check out these numbers:
0-60 in 1.97 sec
QM in 8.94 sec
Top speed: 230 mph
That was with street tires (pseudo slicks)
1100 hp and 950 lb-ft. with about 20 pounds of boost (twin turbo)
That for about $60K plus the cost of the 'vette (USD).
The above was posted by a Lingenfelter tuned Corvette. $100K car that will whip any tuner car from Europe. Check out this article http://www.lingenfelter.com/images/CF427TT_eprint.pdf

2004 - 2nd place = Lingenfelter Corvette
2004 - 3rd place = RSI SR Twin Turbo Viper
2004 - 4th place = MTI Z07 Corvette

Just my $0.02

PS: I'm not even an American, but love American tuner cars!
Yeah, I agree Mike. The US has far more/better tuners than the europeans, none that cater to Dodge though. The GM guys do unbeleivable things with a laptop. If somebody ever breaks the DCX code and starts retailing software for the HEMI (not the idiot proof little Hypertech box, REAL software) I think there is some real potential to uncap another 50HP easy.

The US doesn't have anything to compare? Are you nuts? As far as I know, a US tuner makes the fastest car you can buy (at least, I have yet to see anything street legal that will beat it).
You missed the point - you can buy a super car in the US but where ya gonna DRIVE it in the US???? In Germany people DRIVE their supercars whenever they feel like it. Which means Germans are much more interested in how they actually perform like how to keep a tire/wheel perfectly balanced and what tire pressure to run at speeds continuously over 100MPH. In the US? Well, what kind of car wax do you use?
