fourteen and dodgemech...I recently have been wondering. How do the exposed K&N's provide a cold air induction if it is so close to the engine and block? WOuldn't a stock induction supple cooler air from the wheel well? Wouldn't an induction cowell setup near the wipers make a better supply of cool air? Seems you MAY be able to retro fit a small duct from the stock air box along the underneath of the hood up to that point. Would this work?

Who told you that fundamentally changing the engine (and increasing the stress) wouldn't void the warranty? Maybe he was talking about the radio.
