For the ultimate in pursuit power, the Dodge Magnum police package also will offer an optional 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with cylinder deactivation that produces 340 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. Ultimate Pursuit Power? Don't they mean a 6.1-liter HEMI? I have a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine that produces 340 HP and 390 ft.-lbs. of Torque right out the window. I am sure the Interceptor Cruisers will have sufficient modifications done to them to 'easily' catch our stock models. If not, Law Enforcement needs to hire better R&D help... How do they expect to catch the new Cadilac?...

Hmmm...
My dealer called me yesterday and said my magnum was on the build list now and would probably be here in 4 weeks. I had ordered this 2005 car on Dec 6, 2004. What makes me wonder is that he said it would be a 2006 model and cost a couple hundred more. Hmmm... I wonder if he is jacking me to get more money. If the 2006 production doesn't start until April 1, how can mine be a 2006.

So the big question is...are anyof these features going to be easily added to 05 Magnums?

Express up windows on RT w/Conv. Group II
Tire Pressure Monitor Warning on RT
AM/FM CD Radio (REF) gets an Aux. Audio Jack

FYI I ordered mine December 10th and it was delivered Feb 10th... as a 2005 model (I bought a different one out of another dealer's stock on Jan 10th). I guess it was one of the last '05 orders honored.

I am repeating Jim_Jim's question. Will the 2006 V-6's have 5 speeds available? Anyone actually know?

I haven't heard anything about them adding the 5 speed to the SXT aside from the AWD which already has it.

I'm confused about the 2005 / 2006 issue as well.

I'm looking to order a Magnum SXT quite soon. Can't find one in the colour and option preference that I want. I was talking to the salesman from the dealer I'm looking at. He says we can just order one from the factory. I asked if it was going to be a 2006 model (as I read on here that 2006 models will be rolling soon). He said, "No, 2006 models won't be starting till sometime this summer". He said it would take 6 to 8 weeks for the car to arrive, and it would be a 2005 model.

I really don't care one way or the other, but there sure is a lot of conflicting info on this thread. I just want a nice Magnum in that purdy Red colour!!

I wish I could order it with the cheap steel rims and hubcaps, cause I want to add some nice aftermarket rims down the road. Oh well, guess I'll just sell the nicer rims to help suppliment the fancy rims.

Also, these cars are made here in Canada eh!! Are they only made in Canada?

Cheers,
Tilt

Dodge is now building 2006 RT's in 2005.

The 2006’s are being built now …something to do with the US Government EPA CAFE Standards, and that Dodge has too many V-8 Hemi’s being built and not enough V-6’s to meet their emission requirements.
On January 24th, 2005, or there about, Dodge closed orders on 2005 RT Magnums for US sale until this issue was rectified…
There is no problem with ordering 2005 SXT models

I guess their solution was to start building 2006 models now to satisfy quotas. I talked to the Gen. Manager at my local dealer and he told me my RT (I ordered last Dec as a 2005)is being built now, and that it would be a 2006 model designation at no extra charge to me. About 4-5 more weeks to delivery, (maybe…)

Awesome...

Congradulations on your score Old Bob. I'm sure you will like the 2006 better, with the improvements and all...

And you answered my question on why the hell there are so many SE and STX Models on the road. US Government mandate. That has to be the only reason, because I honestly don't see spending the money for this car without the Hemi... US Government Mandate, lol...

Well, I for one am very glad they make a lower version. Otherwise I wouldn't have a hope in hell of owning one. Not everyone can fork out $45,000 bucks Cdn (plus tax) for these beauties!!

It irritates me to no end that the car companies keep coming out with all these wonderful machines.....waving them under our noses....but then setting the price at a level that the common person can't even touch. So I'm happy that I can actually afford one finally. Yeah, it won't have the big power plant under the hood, but I can live with that.
