When will they start building the 2006 Magnums>>>will there be any changes in new model?

Probably not until Sept of 2005, I doubt if there will be any big changes. Probably mostly cosmetic.

Per my dealer, I'll be able to order a 2006 RT as soon as 2-3 weeks from now. I am hoping mine will be built in March/April but should know more when I order.

Express up windows on RT w/Conv. Group II
Fold flat front passenger seat (late availability)
Center Stack Bezel in Satin Silver
Tire Pressure Monitor Warning on RT
Rear DVD Entertainment System optional
AM/FM CD Radio (REF) gets an Aux. Audio Jack

Your dealer should be able to order an 06 since production starts in March.

 

Will the 2006 SXT 3.5l 6-cylinder use the 5-speed automatic transmission?

Will the 2006 SXT include anti-sway bar option? Larger disk brakes option?

There are articles on the web discussing Magnum police cars shipping this spring with the 3.5L V6 including the 5-speed automatic, larger brakes and sway bars...almost sounds like RT running gear with the 3.5l V6.

 

Will these be on the SRT alos (aside of the satin center piece which I beleive is Carbon fiber look alide)

 

now that one option I really would want, was one of the things I kind of wished it had back when I got it, guess i'll have to order that seat when they start making them.

 

The 2006 Dodge Magnum will be available with a police package in the fourth quarter of 2005. The standard 3.5-liter High Output V-6 engine featured on the 2006 Dodge Magnum police package vehicle delivers 250 horsepower and 250 lb-ft. of torque for great police performance. A five-speed fully electronic transmission with steering column shifter, 18-inch V-rated tires and steel wheels, heavy-duty police brakes and linings and heavy-duty suspension will be included as standard equipment with the police package models. For the ultimate in pursuit power, the Dodge Magnum police package also will offer an optional 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with cylinder deactivation that produces 340 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. Chrysler Group's Multiple Displacement System (MDS) seamlessly alternates between smooth, high fuel economy four-cylinder mode when less power is needed and V-8 mode when more power is in demand. Fuel efficiency is improved by up to 20 percent with cylinder deactivation, but not at the expense of performance.

The HEMI powertrain, mated to a fully electronic five-speed automatic transmission and high-performance suspension, will give officers in pursuit situations a balance of world-class performance, power and handling.

The 2006 Dodge Magnum police package will include the following specific package items: certified speedometer, column shifter, emergency rear door lock override, heavy-duty five-link suspension system, heavy-duty alternator, heavy-duty battery, heavy-duty brakes, inoperable rear door locks and rear windows, and special police electrical wiring. Optional equipment includes: daytime running lamps, dual spot lamp, police-type heavy-duty front seats with manual lumbar adjustment and full-size spare tire. The 2006 Dodge Magnum police package will begin production in the fourth quarter of 2005. Pricing will be announced at that time

 

Just Heard From My Dealer Today - He Said 2006 Rt's Will Be Able To Be Ordered Within 1-2 Weeks. He Also Said He Didn't Know If 2006 Changes Would Be Part Of The 1st Vehicles That Come Off The Assembly Line... Any Comments?

 

I ordered my 2006 RWD RT today, based on '05 options and color. Apparently the orders have been open since last week.
I'll be adjusting my order a bit (hopefully adding the DVD entertainment system) around the time 2006 options and colors are available from DCX, perhaps two weeks from now.
