I assume you have the RT? It will spin the tires with ESP turned off, not a lot, but some spin. Remember, the more miles you put on, the freer the engine will turn, hence, some more power.
Car & Driver tested the RT, they did a power brake burnout and really smoked the tires! Of course this does not help the rear brake pads, it must "glaze" a bit.
This is a stationwagon and there is a lot of weight on those rear tires.

With the tall rear end gears, the car is not really made for good tire burnouts.
You are so right. With 2:82 gears and a 4000+ weight and the weight distributed 48-52 it is a wonder you can make a burn out at all without a clutch and standard transmission.
I once had a 1965 Ford Galaxy with the big 428 w/three carbs, and it had a 4:11 rear end w/ std trans. It would do burn-outs that wouldn’t stop.

from the "straight up" take off, i can't do more than few feet burn-out, but floring it from the slow turn(ESP off) i have good 20 feet and some 'fishtail'. i guess tilting it helps to break the traction. see no difference in power after 3200 MI, but MPG is 5% up.

i have TOYOs, ride is a little louder and i have subtle "shimmy" at 60-70 mph. that's the balance. i spent $130 on balancing and had tires remounted twice.
they say it common problem with bigger wheels. i'm not so sure, but they look great and i decide i can live with it.
