Wierd problem in reverse
I have a 2005 Dodge Magnum SXT AWD with 55,000 miles. This car has been a joy to drive, but it suffers from various little problems that would normally bother older vehicles. But something really wierd has happened four times. I put the car in reverse to back up, start going back just a few feet, then wham, it stops like I hit something. The first time it happened was about a month ago. I thought I did hit something, but I got out of the car and there was nothing to hit. Then it happened again, and again. It happened yesterday while I was attempting to parallel park in heavy traffic. Every time it does this, I put it in drive, go forward a few feet, then I can back up without a problem. It's hard to tell if the brakeS are locking or if the transmission is the culprit. HAS ANYONE EXPEREINCED THIS??
that's a tough one to solve. the dealer will have to look at the whole drivetrain. could be the trans cable not adjusted right, front or rear differenials binding, transfer case issues, and/or drive shafts. take it in soon.
HOPE THIS ONE IS SIMPLE/have a 2007 dodge ram, it didnt come with fog lamps, so i got a set of them and installe them and pluged them into the harness,i got a new switch for the dash which has the fog lamp switch,,,,cant get them to work,,,is there something i overlooked, i could find any type of fuse for them,,which i found that to be strange,,someone please help.....
I don't know if this helps, but here is what we think it was. I kinds lost confidence in my dealer when they stripped my lub nuts and wanted me to pay for replacement lugs. After I had some serious words with them, they decided to buy me new lug nuts. So, for mechanical work, I took the car to my daughter's Subaru mechanic, who runs a private garage. I needed new brakes, so I had him do it. I told him about this problem. When he did the brake job, he said that the emergency brake assembly simply fell apart when he removed all the brake parts to replace rotors and pads. He suspected that the original e-brake was the problem. I also had an occasional metal on metal chafing noise that would come and go as I drove, not as I braked. That too went away with his brake job. My factory brakes performed well for 60,000, but the other problems are now gone.
Yes all my tires are the same. I just recently rebalanced and rotated.
