I think you'll figure it out for yourself when you test the 2.7L.

My wife bought an '07 Magnum in Sept.2007. We drove both, and the 3.5 was the winner, hands down!

We took the 2.7L out for a test drive on the freeway, doing 100 km/h (60 mph), and it was absolutely gutless. The 3.5L is excellent when you need extra power for passing, etc...

With two kids, we felt the 2.7 was a safety issue to get going on the highway, if we were loaded down with stuff for the weekend.

Having said that, my buddy has a 2008 Charger with the 2.7L and he loves it.

Have fun deciding and good luck.

the 2.7 is slightly under powered, but it's fine for city driving. if the 3.5 has the 5-speed trans, i would get that. if the 3.5 is a 4-speed, get the cleaner of the two magnums.

Thanks

Heading out to see the 2.7L in about 10min..

we were ready for the 2.7 to not have as much power as the 3.5, but the gas milage is better (supposedly) but 2 MPG between the two??

We have the minivan for the kids and if we go anyware so the magnum would be the less used 2nd car.

I was also thinking wouldn't the 08 be worth more down the road because of it being the last year it was made? probably not really a big issue but it's also worth thinking about maybe??

thanks again it's helped.

Thanks..
Well we ended up getting the 08 2.7 magnum.. I really like the 3.5 and yeah it had the 5 speed. But the 2.7 came with warrenty from the dealer (not a dodge dealer) and we'd really only be driving it about 10-20 miles a day as the "less used" second car. plus it's the wifes and she's not that concerned with the power difference..
but I'm allready thinking of mods.. and up for any suggestions.

The 3.5 didn't have a warrenty, it was as is. But I'm thinking of trading the minivan in for it. LOL

good choice on going with the one that has a warranty. the only thing i don't like about the SEs is the clear windows, but some window tint will cure that.

it has tinted windows. and the front driver/passerger have like a slight tint not as dark as the rear.

Now on to the good stuff.
Plans for now (may change)
I'd like to lower the front maybe a half an inch. leaving the rear stock but replace the springs and shocks.
after market rims/tires not yet sure what I want but I'm kinda going for a classic mag type maybe, but still looking new/current.
W/ low profile rims/tires and the slight lowered front I think it'll kick it off nicely but not really look like I've done anything, to where you look at it and think somethings different but not sure what.. lol
K&N cold intake.
custom paint. I'm going for a classic look no flames or anything crazy since it's not a "hot rod" type of rig to start with really.
The interior has a white on the roof and the rest is dark gray so I may play with that on the outside. making the top off white/cream. and have it run over the hoods center section and around the grill.
after market grill maybe. I haven't really seen anything that I really liked yet though.
still figuring out what I.. I mean my wife wants to do.
