Close to pulling the trigger... ?'s
Ok, I'm close to pulling the trigger on an '06 R/T but have a few questions:
1. Was going to order the mineral gray and of course they are discontinuing the color. Does ANYONE have a clue what the silver steel is going to be like and will delivery be delayed if I select the new paint color?
2. Will probably do 20's, pro kit, CAI and window tint
3. Exhaust.... Will probably do something here too, but my Saleen drones you into a MAJOR headache. Used to like it but I'm getting older. The factory exhaust sounds lame... What are your thoughts on exhaust. Of couse add'l HP is a plus, so????
4. For those of you that removed the side door trim, how difficult was it?
5. Has the quality of your vehicle been good and how much do you love your car?
6. Any other mods you have found/did that you just love?
Thanks for any info/feedback.
Of course the dealers I'm talking to don't have any '06 info yet so they can't give me a firm MSRP, delivery date or anything... Not ideal but not a big deal either as I have something to drive while I WAIT![:@]

This car looks great with 20's. I have 4,000 miles on mine and have not had one problem. It will probably be another year or two before I do the performance mods. I'm still working on my G35 coupe mods.
Im sorry to hear that they dont make the mineral grey anymore,I have no idea what the new color is going to look like. I do have the mineral grey and i love it..Now i have 1200 miles on my car I love it ...My mods to date are K&N CAI ,Flowmaster 17405 cat back kit and i have 2-8 inch bass tube in the carg compartment ...Thats it so far I want to put NOS on when they make a kit for it....Now the only problem that i have well its not a problem just seems to be a trate with these cars i have the annoying window crack-pop whatever they call it but it is annoying because the car is so queit and drives beautiful and then you hear this damm noise[:@]..Other than that its great

Maybe this will help in what you asked about MSRP and delivery date.

I had originally ordered an ’05 RT Magnum. After waiting a month the dealer called and told me production on the ‘05’s was cut off and mine would be an ’06. This is what they said about MSRP on the N29 package (no options added on). The ’05 was MSRP $30,695. The ’06 is $30,810. A difference of $115.00.
When they first told me it would be a 2006 model it was supposedly in D build status.(that means a firm schedule, and the dealer has allocation.)
I was recently told it was in D-1 status (scheduled to be built), and I should have it, maybe the first or second week in April.
I tend not to believe this, as I first ordered the car on Dec 06, 2004.

Hear are my sound bytes from my SXT
flowmaster 40
dynomax ultraflow
The drone from the Flowmaster was unbareable.
4. For those of you that removed the side door trim, how difficult was it?
Pretty easy. I just pulled slowly and took goo-gone to remove the junk. Some people use fishing line like floss to remove it. And clean it up with good-gone.
5. Has the quality of your vehicle been good and how much do you love your car?
Absolutely no complaints
6. Any other mods you have found/did that you just love?
I added about $850 worth of Alpine stereo 05 Magnum Website
click on the Alpine button

356 Mgnum,
Does the Alpine upgrade system work with the steering wheel volume/etc. controls like the stock unit?

Ok, I'm close to pulling the trigger on an '06 R/T but have a few questions:
Musky Nut,
Is this a dumb question? Is there going to be an 06 R/T and an SRT8? The Dodge site has no info so I'm basing my assumtion that the 2006 will be only the SRT8 on what I've read/heard on this site and the others that we're all on. Anyone have definitive info?
KK
PS: I have gone fishing up in Ontario, Canada a few times but never for Musky (Muskie) Is that you're screen name reference?

i love my rt.
only wish it was a. manual tranny and b. lighter
i'd go with 22"s instead of the 20"s but thats just me
as for the exhaust borla, (they have 2 models) get the quieter version.
pesonally i think the dual climate option makes the dash look better so get that option.
the stock boston acoustic sound system is pretty good, then again, i just put 3K into a soundsystem.[:-]
every car has issues...overall, love my mag
btw, i really want that extra .4 liters in the SRT. if i were u, i'd put myself on that srt waiting list.

Thanks for the input. I thought about 22's, but am concerned about how much add'l weight they would add (especially over the factory rims). I have considered the SRT version. My primary issue is the 10:1 compression ratio. A couple of things I don't like about it; 1) Don't think I'd want to supercharge the 10:1 over the 5.7L Hemi. 2) Premium fuel req'd
The 5.7L hemi should be a perfect candidate for future blower. Add 30-40% to the 340 and you've got a tiger by the tail. I also figure the add'l 10+ grand would do a lot of playing on an R/T. I do like the brake and seat upgrade on the SRT, but all in all, the R/T seems like more bang for your buck. I get GMS, so for the price of an SRT, I'd probably go with the CTS-V (and the money I'd save would buy a nice set of 20" wheels).
Regarding the nick: Yes I live in northern IN and love to musky (muskie to the Canadian's) fish.
Appreciate any other input you guys may have.....
Be easy on me because I have never even considered purchasing a Chrysler product. In fact, I'm a little shocked that I'm going that way..... but I think the R/T is a ton of car for the money. So many possibilities with it. I figure I can play with it for a few years before I get tired of it. I also think the wife might even like driving it. She thinks it's ugly and is pretty much in love with her 320HP Caddy, but she my be surprised how much fun the R/T is to drive.
Sorry for the long post and keep the info coming....
