Default Rt's body protective side-molding

I have been looking at a few RTs, some have the chrome strip on the top of the side protective molding and some don't. Whats up?

PS; Still looking for that perfect RT (price / color). Almost got one tonight in Indy. A high end japanese dealership has a red used one. Has everything, including Nav and sunroof, 4,000 miles, he was willing to let it go for 28K, 1k more than my limit. Probadly won't be able to sleep tonight, it's just that "she" doesn't like the red and my fav colors are the silver or grey.

The V6 cars have the solid molding. RTs have the chrome strip to go with the grill and headlites. As far as I know if you see an RT without it, they have changed it.

There is also an option for the V6 to get an upgraded appearance package to the crome striped side moldings.

It actually isn't an option for the V6, it's an option for the SXT. That option is not available on the SE. Both of these are models that have a V6. I know, symantics but V6 is an engine, not a Model, just like HEMI isn't a model, it's an engine.

Cdn 2 Usa,
Good luck. Get the Mineral Gray, they stopped making those in late October 2004. But I believe I have seen some 2006 Magnums in Mineral Gray. Not sure. Get one, you'll have fun!

If you select that, do you also get the silver grill and silver headlites. I tried ordering my Hemi with black grill and lights and was told you couldnt.....silver was the only choice.

Stripped Hemi,
The V6 Models are the only Magnums to get the Black Headlights. However, some of the V6 Models do have the option to come with the Chrome Headlights like the RT. Seems that Dodge offers the Chrome on the V6 Models, but not visa-versa. Go figure...

I also find it a bit funny how lots of the RT owners want the black ones, and the V6 owners want the chromed ones (not the rule....but certainly seems popular here).

I'd love to trade my blacked out SXT headlights for the chromed RT's. However, I'm pretty nervious about 2 things. Firstly, I took a quick look at the headlight assembly. Looks a bit tricky to dissassemble. Wouldn't want to pooch something on these expensive parts. Secondly, I'd rather trade locally. I'm a bit twitchy about packing up these parts and shipping them off several hundred miles.

Oh well....eventually I'll figure something out.

Cheers,
Tilt

Yeah, I don't know why you can't choose which headlights you want regardless of model. Of course, then we'd never really know which model we were looking at (unless of course we could hear it revving up) and the RT would lose some marketing appeal from that. I've thought about offering my black headlights up too (have mineral grey magnum), but everyone wants to cross ship, This is my daily ride and I cannot be without it, I'd need advance shipment. But, undecided anyway.

I'm in the same boat. I need my car daily.

So many things I'd like to do to my Magnum. While many here are busy stripping there Magnum's down, I can't wait till I can afford to jazz mine up. Nice rims, chrome headlights, a grille that stands out more, and maybe some body chrome pieces here and there.

Cheers,
Tilt
