side molding removal...
I am going to pick up a Black RT this week and I really want to get rid of the side molding. I am concerned about the haze seen in some of your pictures and this will be an 05 model, so it's had a year to develop problems under there. What do you guys think about me requesting that the dealership remove them when I buy the car?
It would kill me if it looked like junk after removing them, but I really like the way it looks without them on.
Thanks guys...

I purchased my '05 model a little over a month ago. After about 4 weeks of having the car I removed the molding. I also have a brilliant black Mag. I didn't get any haze at all. Grinner said he had some haze after removing his, obiwan removed his with no problem. I say go for it. You can always purchase a new set of molding if it looks bad. I can tell you that it makes a night and day difference in the look of the car.
i used a heat gun (basically a hair drier), then goo gone, and finally megiurs paint cleaner. then i hand waxed the whole car. after the wax there was no haze or signs the molding had ever been there. this surprised me because i've had this car since august. it's a painful process, but defintly worth it.

I just peeled it off and used my thumb to rubb off the spongy two sided-tape.
My sons helped.

We tore righ into my wife's car as soon as we got it home too:

she opted to keep her hemi badges.
