I usually fill up about when the light fuel low comes on. 330 Miles/15.8gals=20.89mpg $34.00. I got as high as 495 miles and it was 16 gals if i remember right. Was too chicken to try to break 500. Id sure would have hated to make te g/f go for gas hahahahah.

On my Magnum RT, I usually get about 400 miles out of a tank of gas. I hate to go too low and wait for the fuel light to come on.

Remember, the RT has a 19 gallon tank, the others have 18 gallons.

Plus the RT has MDS, the V6's don't..................do they?

The Hemi is well worth the extra cost, I didn't buy it for the gas mileage.

Just did a 2k mile vacation trip in the Magnum. With highway speeds from 75-95mph fuel economy was anywhere from 20-24mpg.
Best economy was with Exxon and the worst is using BP.

AJ_Gil,

14 MPG Consistantly... Almost... That's the same lousy traffic as Ltl Dad described, but not that long most days... (I leave earlier) 45 minutes to go 15 miles... When I am not putting down the road, I usually have my foot in it, so that's where the 14 MPG comes into play.

On the Highway is a different story though... With Cruise Control on between 65 and 70 MPH, I get 25.5 MPG!!! Wait was that a typo... 5.7 Liter V8 Hemi getting 25.5 MPH on the way to Vegas? Awesome!!!

Aj_Gil,

Got just over 18,000 on my SXT and took it up to it on a 300+ mile trip through some hilly roads; rough average going up: 23 mpg. Got in it a few times to pass, and was also running regular unleaded. Coming back, not as much wind and was using mid grade and it creeped up a little above 24 mpg.

Why would there be such a variation of MPG between two SXT models? Best I've ever gotton was 280 out of a tank of gas. I keep my foot in it but not that much. My drives are 22 miles a day to work and back, and maybe another 50-80 on the weekends. I'm getting 16 on average, you 19-20. What gives. I have aftermarket exhaust, and just added my intake hopping for a little better gas mileage. Any ideas?

For those of you with lousy gas mileage, are you checking your tire pressure?

In my RT I run 35 pounds of air, front and rear.

Just a thought,

Bob

Hi

I live in Whitby Canada and have had a problem with my SXT fuel usage right from the start

I have complained to the dealer serveral times but get the same answer

" it is still braking in and the tranny is getting use to your driving habits"

I have just past the 5000km ( 3106 miles ) mark and I am not happy with that answer any more

Could it be a senor or computer problem with some of the SXT's

see below for sample of fuel usage

APRIL

51-L / 327-KM = 15-l 18-mpg
55-L / 319-KM = 17-l 16-mpg
63-L / 300-KM = 21-l 13-mpg

MAY

59-L / 319-KM =18-l 15-mpg
58-L / 347-KM =17-l 17-mpg
60-L / 310-KM =19-l 14-mpg
60-L / 361-KM =16-l 17-mpg

JUNE

51-L / 270-KM = 19-l 15-mpg
58-L / 292-KM = 19-l 14-mpg

I love the car but this is nowhere near the posted fuel economy
