Default Gas Milage Check / Comparison.

I was driving to work today wondering what the gas savings would be with the 6 over my Hemi.
Sooo.... please post your motor, mileage & mods.

I have the Hemi with AirRaid CAI & Magnaflow mufflers.

Downtown Traffic w/ AC on = 15.8 mpg
w/ no AC = 16.6 mpg
Highway (70-80 mph) w/ AC on = 21.2 mpg
w/ no AC = 22.9 mpg

I don't drive with a real heavy foot but do try to run it through 1st & 2nd once a day.

Just filled up the SXT. 20.89 using calc. I always go to the same pump and stop at the first click. This way im somewhat guaranteed the same readings. This week there were plenty of thromp on it's. I could have probabaly hit 22 easily if I drove normal. 90% trips is the 6 mile 45mph trip to work. Only mod is dynomax ultraflow muffler, dirty air filter. I have 12,000 on it. I cant say enough about the car. Especially trading the Ram 1500 4.7L that got 11/15mpg.

Had my 3.5 6 for just under a month. 2400 miles avg. 24mpg. I have a 70 mile rt work commute. A/C all the time I live in phoenix. I am very happy with the car. Gave up my 04 Ram 1500 laramie for it which I got 14/18 on.

I too have a SXT and am seeing about 20 mpg. I have a K&N Aircharger. HEAVY traffic for 20 miles (meaning 1 to 1 1/2 hour to go those 20 miles).

2005 Magnum Hemi, stock.

My commute is 1/2 freeway speeds for 35 miles (70-75mph) bookended with horrible traffic I am usually around 17 mpg with super AC blasting.

However, on a recent trip from Sacramento to Seattle and back, with almost no AC useage and no urban traffic I was well into 21-23 mpg land.

At no time have I ever managed over 23 mpg.

We consistenly make a 120 mile trip to Upstate NY using the NYSThruway traveling at 75mph with cruise on.

Fuel usage is about 23 mpg. I will be make a similar trip today. I'll reset the trip odometer, top off the Magnum before I leave and once I get to my destination and post the actual results.

No mods on the engine at all. I use midgrade fuel and Mobil1 oil.

How many miles on your RT? I have just over 10,000 miles on my RT in one year.

I get great mileage, never less than 18 MPG in town and over 23 on highway.

That is with the air on, hey, I am in Florida and it is hot and humid.

I have the auto temp A/C and set controls to 72 degrees all the time.

I do step on it occasionally...............heavy right foot (smile).

Car does Flowmasters with 2 short resonators and a CAI system (360).

I am going to buy either a 1500 Hemi or 2500 CTD

The 2005 Laramie Hemi has cold air intake, 4in suspension lift with 35' tires

The HO CTD is a 2004 model and had 24000 miles.

What kind of gas milage can i expect with these two trucks? Anyone have trucks with similar dimensions? Any suggestions?
If its only a difference in 2-3mpg I'm going to go with the 2005 hemi. Thanks.

I'm getting no better than 15-16, maybe 17 MPG around town in my SXT. I don't keep my foot in it, and only use the AC when need be. I don't see how you guys are getting 20-25 MPG on a full tank of gas. Let me ask you this, how many trip miles do you all get on a tank of gas? I average 260-275. When I fill up I normally fill 15-17 gallons worth of gas. Doing the math thats between 15-17 MPG for the tank. I'm getting better than I did in my '03 Ram Hemi, but I hoping for 17-19 out the SXT.
