Default tinting

I just had one question. First of all I just moved here from Pittsburgh a couple of months ago. I just bought my new magnum 3 weeks ago. I live in the Harrisburg area closer to Mechanicsburg. I wanted to tint the front windows on it and I really dont know anywhere around this area that does any window tinting on cars. If anyone knows of any good places and good prices let me know when u get a chance.

Be wary of the local traffic laws regarding the tinting o the driver and front passenger windows. The law enforcement types tend to frown on that application and will let you know with a ticket.

Going by Gila's site PA are limited to 70% light transmission. Basicially the lil tint that comes with the car is what you are limited to. Sorry

See if this helps you. BTW, I am in Florida and tinted my front windows to match the rears, it does look cool - but it is also dark inside the car, even during the day.

I have had previous cars before this one and never got pulled over for it. At least in pittsburgh, but I dont know what they are like around here the cops that is. Actually there is a F-150 with all his windows in my apt comples. tinted at 5%. I know they are cause i cant see him driving in the day time when it is sunny.

Trucks are held to somewhat different laws regarding tint as they tend to have different ride heights and/or designated uses. My 01 Dakota had 25% tint on it, and the state law only allows 30%. I never got a ticket for it.

naa that aint right. Same law for all motor vehicles, which is 35% on the driver and passenger door and anything ya want on the rest of the car except the windshield which eyebrows can't be more than 6 inches in most states.
A few states like CA say no dice to any tint and couple like Alaska don't give a flip if ya paint em. Much of the time, if there is a sticker under the film stating that the tint is 35, they won't even measure it with a meter. The key is to have your wondows already down when ya get pulled over. I keep my foot on the brake while pulle dover too just to keep em from messin with me about my tail lights. I always buckle up just before I roll down the windows. Sad that I have a routine down for recieveing tickets but I imagine I have gotten around 30 (not all moving violations) since '86 so it does become routine.
I don't go by the written law. It's easier to just do what looks cool and rock on. In this case, I went with 20% smoke to match the rest of the car. I used 5% on the eye brows and the upper one is waay too low to be legal and a lower one isn't legal at all. I havn't gotten a ticket for tint since the 80s when I use to get 3 tickets per stop for various things. Right now, my tint is illegal, my eyebrow(s) are illegal, my eyelids on my headlights are illegal, my smoked tail lights are illegal, my painted liscense plate is illegal and I'm sure I'm leaving an infraction or two out. I get puleld over for driving too fast though. I wouldn't be too bent out of shape if I got ticketed for any or all of that... and expect to over time. What freaks me out are stories you hear from people who say the cop mad em strip off the tint right there on the side of the road. Man, that aint happenin' here. A cop can't make you do anything to your ride. Can't even pull you over for it again that same day. Now, they can park at your house and ticket you every day for the same thing but there just aint a cop big enough to make take a key to my window on the highway.
Bottom line, make it the way ya want it, man.
