Default new rk sport hood problem

after months of curing and smoothing out my rk hood, i finally fit the hood on the car today. i am paint ready now, but needed to test fit this thing first. i have an '06 so some of you guys won't have this problem. the hood will not close because of the prop rod is in the way. the stock '06 hood has an indentation to clear the prop rod when closed. the '05 hoods may not have this intent. i don't know, but the rk hood doesn't have the indent.

an easy problem to fix, but it is there. second problem is the wiper arm hitting the cowl. another fixable problem.

some good points, the fit of this hood is perfect. the fit is as good as the stock aluminum hood and even better. the stock hoods just don't fit perfect by the left headlight, the rk hood is perfect in this area.

i also sealed the rk hood to the 360 air intakez box. some of you might want to see how i did this. i will paint the hood next week weather permitting. i will add the stock insulating pad to the rk hood and wrap the the inlet tube of the 360 intakez system. i am also going to close the bottom of the air box as to make it a true ram-air system. i will post a few pictures tomorrow.

you tease
my ride is goin in the shop for at least a week tomorrow.
post pics of that seal for the 360 intakez you mentioned. I've been thinking about doing this as well as making a port from the front of the heat box to the grille for more air.
Hey you can always ditch that prop rod and add '05 hood pumps. They bolt right on, allow ya to be propless and will solve the fit prob.

here's a shot of the next mod. i am going to paint the centers some shade of grey and clear coat everything. i ordered 5 of these wheels. you never know when you'll need a spare. they take 8 to 10 weeks to get. if one get damaged, i won't have to wait two months for another one.

The wheels will compliment the ride nicely. The hood will look great with some paint. That's the way the hood should have looked without the louvers!

65standard - What are your plans for the original RT wheels? I am torn between looking for some after market or looking for a set of RT wheels.

Interesting, I didnt even know the hood was aluminum and I got mine over a year ago. Sure enough, a magnet wont stick.

I'm shocked...the hood wasn't quite right??? Say it ain't so.
Seriously, I'm glad yours fit as well as it does.
I suppose if you sat 25 monkeys down with a fiberglass kit and 100 years eventually even they'd turn out a good hood once in awhile.
(it's been 7 months and a few days since I ordered mine and I'm still waiting for someone to reimburse me for the damage (repair now) on arrival...this is my infrequent chance to vent on RK, publically. I actually found a shop willing to attempt a repair...it's there now, so...it was either that or pay to store it, pay to move it, or return it (shipping was $460)
Good luck with the mods. I hope it works out for you. Frankly, I'm afraid this thing will come apart on the German Autobahn at 120 mph and be in Poland before I can catch up to it.
