Any car in our price range drops between $10-15K the minute you drive off the lot. A better judge of value will be what its worth in a normal trade in time of 4-7 years. If there are no serious recalls or problems, since at least the Hemi is a new breed (return), Id look for its value to be pretty stable or even start to go back up after 10 years at least on low mile cars. I sold original 60s-70s Hemi cars 20 years ago when I got tired of them for less than $1,000 at the time.....now look at them.

that is interesting 356, cause my SE with 14k miles has a trade in of 17+, guess maybe the size of the six doesn't matter

not that i am even thinkin about ditchin my super sweet low slow cruiser

To be honest with you guys. In the auto industry, we use the Blue Book as a joke. Don't let them dictate what you believe your car is worth. If a dealer wants to trade bad enough, he will show you more.

Ha, Ha, Ha,
Kelly Blue Book... Ha, Ha, Ha... If you want good trade in value, buy a Honda... If you want the sweetest car on the road, buy a Magnum... Always cracks me up the way people value/price their cars after they buy them. Buy it and keep it... The 2005 Magnum RT will be a classic soon enough...

As they say, if you want an investment, don't buy a car, buy gold.

$26k and change for an RT with 9k miles, but I agree this also does not take into account custom paint or my shaker which will hurt me in some dealerships and be to my advantage in others. If the dealer wants you car bad enough then he / she is going to give you what you need to get or want to get, but they will make up for it somewhere else.

Just be happy with the car, or do what I do get board and get something new every couple of years and keep the wife nice and pi$$ed off.

Stripped, our 05 acura with 15k miles is worth 28,500 now, that MSRP is at 35,500, though we were able to get it for 32,500(500 below invoice). Depreciation on american brands is a lot faster than most imports(though acura claims to be american). The Magnum is something I see as a possible "future classic" so I may end up making my mother give it to me for a HS grad gift, though it is unlikely.
