2005 magnum 6 cylinder 249000.

 

Magnum 2005 6 cylinder 3.5. I am having starting issues sometimes it starts with no problems. And there are times that I need to jump it 3 times in a row it can be after driving 40 miles or after driving3 miles. it will try to start like the battery is dead and then start clicking. sometimes after I try it 3 or 4 times it will start. if not I jump it and no problem. everything works lights radio etc. It just recently started this with some constant issues. I have had to jump it 3 times before within this pass year. But I was tailgating and just figured it was we had the doors open and the radio on. Also 3 or 4 times in the last 4 or 5 years it shut off while driving. I put a new battery in it and same issue. When I first put the battery in there was new issues slow starts or any other problems and its been about 3 weeks and this problem comes back. Any advice on where to start to look for the problem? I did try the alternator home check taking the cable off and the car kept running. Thanks again for any help

 

have the starter tested. Local parts store might be able to do it for you. If it's original, probably time for replacement.

 

Starter tested, battery tested and see if you have any dirty connections to the starter and/or voltage drop from the battery to the front of the car.
