brand new magnum in service already!!!
[:@] What the #$%# I trade in a lemon yukon, and bit the bullet and bought my wife a 05 magnum, drive it home the first night, it stalls, shutters, and starts shifting funny. Take it to the dealer and they said it needs a new torque converter now. I also asked if these cars had any recalls, the manager tells me no. I get on this site and find out there is like 100 of them. I am so aggrivated right now, I can hardly stand it. So I pay for a brand new car, just to drive into the service bay, where it's gonna be torn appart, mechanics getting grease all over the leather, and crap like that. I don't even want the car anymore because I don't trust it. I don't know what to do.
Is anybody else having any problems with there magnums, I mean there is a ton of recalls on these things, WTF?? I mean me and my wife already fell in love with this car, but it seems anything that we buy american just is crap. Can somebody give me some insight on there experiences. IT's just hard to buy a new car, and now it's not realiable. aarrrrrgggghhhh. I mean it's not like I bought some piece of crap, we spent some good money to try to get a good realiable family car.
please somebody give me some feedback, should I just give them this car back, or what? especially with all these recalls.

Seems like bad luck just runs to you j/k. Ive had my 05 RT for almost 2 years and very few very minor stuff. A lot of the service bulletins are for replacing underhood decals, checking anti freeze and stuff like that. I doubt if there are more than 10 for major issues from what Ive seen and read. Most seem to be transmission issues, and thats weird since its pretty much a bulletproof Mercedes thats been around for a few years. Ive had SLs that I drove for hundreds of thousands of miles with no trans problems at all. I wish these things had an updated 727 tranny myself
5100 miles on our '05 RT and nothing major. Remote starter issues, but that was an afterthought on our part.
Here's a contradictory action in thought process-towng home our 18' Crestliner fish/ski boat with the heated seats on!
Only in Minnesota.[&o]

I know that it's nothing major it seems, but dang, one night and it's already in the service drive. I told them I want a new one. see what happens. I want to be able to trust my brand new car. Since my wife and kids are gonna be in it.
Same here. My Magnum R/T has 2500 miles on it. It started to make a grinding type noise out of the blue and I brought it Dodge. Am told there is water in the transmission. Dodge says they are goint to drain tranny let it "dry out" refill with tranny fluid and give it back. Now first of all they haven't addressed the fact of how the water got there in the first place nor the fact that the sound and vibration was probably the sound of things going bad because of the water. I want a new tranny!
Have them check their TSBs Dodgegirl. Theres one about adding an ' O ' ring on the dipstick fill tube that elimiates the problem of water leaking down from the A/C unit into the trans.
When you say recall it looks like you are not referring to a full blown NHTSA type safety recall but rather the micky-mouse stuff. Yes, there is a loooong list. I had the windshield pop done and the hood switch, both had TSBs. I also has a rear end seal leak. But I'm still satisfied with the car. I had a choice - pay $85,000 for a Mercedes V8 station wagon or $40,000 for a Dodge V8 station wagon. For $45,000 less I can live with micky in the back seat.

There are I think 3 recals for the R/T. There are MANY TSB's, but if you want to see TSB's, look at a 05 Chevy Suburban..My wife drives one and it seems there is always an issue..My R/T is a much more fun car to drive, MUCH better mileage and over all built better...Plus it was 20K less
Yes, this did start with a tsb issue, The tranny got water in it from the fill shaft oring, they fixed that, drained and flushed the tranny about 5 times, put it all back together, said it threw codes, so they said the changed the torque converter, did that and, said it still through codes, called them and they told me they had absolutely no idea what was wrong with it, and that they are now gonna change the ecu. But at this point they are guessing.[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@] I no called the Corp. office, and they said that they sent them a dealer directive, which says "they better fix the car" and that's all they can do at this point.
oh sweet, thank you so much. When I asked them how does this make them move any faster, she said, well now they will fix it faster. So I guess when they recieve this notice from corp. The are gonna magically know what's wrong with my car. Thank you dodge corporation. I wonder if I call them back and say, hey, I bought a car from you,and since I haven't had it since I've purchased it, then how about you pay for the time it's in dealer service?? Yeah Right.
