I believe with the ESP On you will get better 1/4 mile times, due to Wheel Spin with it Off. I remember reading a thread of a guy who went to the track. 1st Run was with the A/C on! Opps... But he said the best time he had was with ESP On. He tried it several ways... But, man, is this thing FUN with the ESP Off! Best part of the Car is that Little 'Mr. Squiggly' Button on the Dash that allows you to use it like it was made for... DC just had to install it to get it on the road, that's all. But at least they had the smarts enough to let us turn it off for the Off Road Fun! Thanks Guys! (Be sure to do the same for the Challenger with the Stick!)
Does yours turn off 100%. That off switch just changes the parameters of the calibration just a tad but will still cause the ESP to actuate.

Magnum R/T and Junior 5290, thanks for the mature responce to the question on how the ESP works. I was not sure, but did feel that if you don't have tire spin you should have better 1/4 times. As far as whoever this Familywagon is, I think you need to mature a little bit. If you have all the answers, why are you asking for a advice? Grow up!

let's keep this thread clean. no personal attacks or i will remove it.

Now, if you really want to completely disable the ESP, buy the GSMotorsports kit. it cost $200 and will do what you want. i have it myself.

Yeah it would make sense that it would make the car a bit faster if ESP was kept enabled. You have some of these people that think peeling out makes your car look fast!. Granted every now and then I like to show off, but what better way to show off than to be gone down the strip; while the other guy is still at the line peeling out?

LOL, i neversaid anything about peeling out. but like i said, i really couldnt care less if you think im a braggard, immature or a full of BS. if you are good you dont need traction controll in the 1/4. do u think drag cars have ESP? its driver controll and the get it by practice.

65Standartd, thanks for the info, will look into it. I appreciate the response to the original question.

Dragsters don't have ESP but they do have a brake system to control the car to go straight down the track. With the torque of the engine and the lightness of the frontends, they use the brakes to control the back wheels independantly to keep the car straight.

Oh I forgot something. I did not intend to offend anyone with my earlier remark pertaining to maturity. I just get upset when I visit the forum and read bickering back and forth.

no, i dont want it to show off. i want it off so when no one is around i can get the feel of my car without the computer controling it. i am a responible driver. i dont horseplay if i could hurt some one else. snoy mall parking lots are great for learning how to regain control of your car. this way i am prepared for any accident. and i cant practice throttle steer if the ABS keeps kicking on. it has nothing to do with showing off, like i said, i have nothing to prove. if i want to do that i will take the car to a racetrack on amature night.
