Yes, but QA vehicle get like 50 miles put on them....not 500 miles. Was it dealer trade by chance or maybe dealer test-drove home??? There was a sticker on the glass somewhere that stated the exact number of miles driven during the test. With a over a decade with DCX I have never seen a QA vehcile go triple digit during the test.
Dodgemech,
Many thanks for your answer. This is likely, as you suggest, a dealer try out.
I don't plan on letting this slide with the customer service people from DC. My local dealer shouldn't try to lie so blatantly. Anyway, I believe the customer service people, who are investigating the matter, should keep looking into the matter. I am not really torqued about it or anything. After all, I think I have the first Hemi Magnum in my part of the world.
As for why I accepted it, the Dealership schedules the delivery for Friday night at 5 PM and it gets quite dark here about 5:30, so when I finally get the car it could have milk crates for seats and I wouldn't care. It took about a week before I figured out which part was the odometer. (Yes I couldn't find it because I expected a rolling counter instead of some electronics) I had to look it up in the owners manual that I have since read.
This site rocks. I am very satisfied with my car since I have very little experience with this model, but I have a lot of good people who have my back. I have already read and benefited from the recall weblink (my car needs new rad mounts) and the discussion about the right hand lean (mine is likely air pressure related, because the tires look a little soft, and could also be crown sensitivity - a new term for me and my soft head). The overall ownership, people asking me out for lunch, offering gas money to join my car pool (it's like getting 80 miles/gallon with four people paying), and this site helping eliminate any difficulties, is very positive.
Does anyone else have friends who talk like gangsters only when there in your car?
Regards,
BrightSilver

I wondered the same thing the first morning I got a face full of sun....when you open the visor, just pull back and the whole thing extends to the rear a bit. Update on pulling to the right:
Took the car to a different dealer with all the past service records and info in hand.
-although very nice and gave me a loaner car their solution was to rotate the front tires left to right (third time we have rotated tires)
-now the pulling to the right is gone but the original shimmy is back
-dealer suggest I call Chrysler...again
-called Chrysler, they called the dealer, and now they are going to do another alignment next week to see if the previous alignment was correct.
-around and around we go, for some unexplained reason they just don't want to accept maybe there is a tire problem.
-on the positive side Chrysler said they mail me a gift certificate for an Dodge accessory
Just checked the mail and they sent...
-a Magnum Brocheur
-a certificate for $25 off my next purchase of $200 worth of Mopar Accessories,
-info on getting an extended service contract... guess they think I might need it
Ah, they know the buttons to push to make a customer feel better about the vehicle!

Sounds like there is a tire issue for sure. Go to whom ever honors the warranty for the tires and have them take care of that problem first, then see how it drives.

Ive had my RT since summer with 4000 miles. I would like to see the steering caster altered to make it a little more easy to drive straight. Road crowns seem to affect it quite a bit pulling one way or another, although its so slight its not really a problem. Id like to see the temp gauge replaced with a muliple gauge set with temp, oil press, amp instead of idiot lites. Steering wheel obscures the wiper and cruise switches. I put black wheel well moldings on mine because the fender lips are pretty succeptible to damage in parking lots. Id like to see a carpet panel on the bottoms of the doors and maybe cargo compartment sides to keep them from getting scuffed up. I find the power and handleing better than my 88 C4 Corvette roadster. I find the steering pretty neutral where uneven pavement throws the vette all over the road. I enjoy the Magnum so much so far, that the vette usually just sets in the driveway or garage most of the time. People love them at car shows. They really should have made the engine orange with black valve covers like the original too

Update #2
-Took the car in and now they say they are not going to do an alignment because it is now tracking straight. Unfortunately it was a bad day with snow and slush so the shimmy would not show up. Service manager said to come back at 10,000 Km as the tires will likely self correct. On the way home shimmy was back as soon as I hit smooth roads
-Went to the Goodyear dealer and explained the problem. Right away he said that is called "low speed walk", bring it in and we will have a look. Yea, I think, finally we are going to get it fixed. I overheard him telling the mechanic it will probably not show up the balancer as it it spins to fast. Came out later and said they could find nothing wrong and it will probably go away in time.
-So I guess if it shows up on the road but not in the shop you are SOL
-When the tires get rotated at 10K the pull to the right will be back. I would rather live with the shimmy than the pull to the right.
-There are 3 options, live with it, take it to arbitration, sell the car.
-I love the look of the car but I don't think it is worth the aggravation.

Yeah, thats what we need, more miniscule recalls that have little if anything to do with "saftey" which is what the NHTSA is "supposed" to be interested in. ORIGINAL: g3gtsboy

Next time anybody complains about new car costs I'm sending them to this thread.....why don't we all sue DCX while we're at it for not building cars that can be driven with no hands so we can talk on the cell phone and do make-up.
