I would think is has more to do with a possible low end factory/sirius tuner then any issue of antenna related signal strength. Also it may have something to do with satellite location as it relates to where you r living....

I think that may be it...I have a feeling the tuner's buffer in the Magnum may not
be as large as what I had in my Pioneer XM unit in my 01 Dodge Ram. I never
had an interuption when I went under cetain 4 lane overpasses, however, with
the factory Sirius unit in the Magnum, it happens all the time. It just get annoying,
I guess I can put myself back in the nostalgic days of the AM radio....

I was looking forward to Sirius radio in my R/T, but that was until I actually tried listening to it. I can't go under any trees, drive-thrus, overpasses, or near buildings without losing signal. My AM radio is doing much better than Sirius. Sirius is good on longer trips in the wide open, but it sucks in the city! I'm not sure I'll be continuing service after the year is up.
It sounds like there is supposed to be some kind of buffer that prevents the signal losses to a certain extent...is that true and does anyone know if there's a way to upgrade the Mag's system?

It looks just like that. I have it and it would appear that the antenna is in the same 'black dome' on top of my R/T that houses the GPS antenna. The service is integrated into the stereo/6 disc changer/MP3 player/GPS unit.
I didn't see any difference between the picture and my car :-) I don't have the sirious radio just because I didn't want anything changing the roofline (same reason I didn't get the roofrack)

The GPS stuff isn't in the 'black bump' - dunno where it is, but it sure ain't there. I see 7 satellites, so I figure it works..
