Radar
I also wired mine to the cig lighter in the dash - had to pull of a LOT more plastic than I was comfortable with, but it all went back together right nice. Now the V1 is up high and dark and the remote is under the light switch, velcro'd on, easy to see and reach to mute it.
I'm quite impressed with the way the plastic stuff fits - someone did their homework on this car.

Although I never speed I am going with the Bell 975R
For a write up and a decent price see : http://www.goelectronic.com/Merchant..._BEL_975R.htmlFor a chance against laser you need something to diffuse the beam. see http://www.radar-detectors.com/produ...tings/veil.asp
For Photo Radars so you need something like: http://www.radar-detectors.com/produ...ar/default.asp This apparently messes with the optical focus.
Hello all,
Just thought I would weigh in on the radar detector issue. As you may be able to tell from my signature, I am a Police Officer in NC. I am radar certified and use it often. However, I do own an '05 RT that I love. And with the K&N intake and exhaust modifications, I love it even better at about 4500-5000 RPM's. Having said that, I have seen some gruesome collisions that remind me to stay within my limits and in a reasonable range of the posted speed limits. I do not have a radar detector and probably never will. Through my certification, I learned how ineffective they really are. We have hand-held units, car-mounted units, vascar, lasers, etc. If the conditions are right, when the detector sounds, you are already being tracked. That's why it alerts the detector. The radar has "hit" the target and received back the changed radar waves. Some radar units only have to on for 1-2 seconds to send and receive the signal, and then they are not transmitting anymore. I am sure that there have been times that a detector has saved someone a ticket or two, but, in reality the radar already has the speed locked. The likelyhood is that there are multiple vehicles (targets) on the road and the unit could not lock onto one particular vehicle. Also, radar detectors are illegal in at least VA. The fine and charge for having a radar detector in VA is more than the speeding ticket would be. Detectors may be illegal in other states too. Just something to think about.
And, by the way, an Officer can get a speeding ticket too. Just paid my fines!

I use the Rocky Mountain Radar RMR-C450. I live in Virginia so I definately have to conceale mine. I had the front windows and windshield tinted. I have the detector/jammer mounted on the right side of the rearview mirror. I have it hard wired on the right side A post. There is a wire connector that has a wire that is on the ignition side.
I have the passport SRX ( 05' r/t RWD) and love it. I had the remote dual-color LED mounted dead center in the dash and had the installer disable the "green" color. (It was too bright at night)
This setup is great and the LED (blinking red) gets my attention, day or night and I can leave the audio alerts all the way down. (I still use the regular display to check the type of alert / strength.)
BTW, It's performance is on par with my 8500 X50/ZR3 combo on my other car.
Oh, and this is my first post. Hello everyone. [sm=gears.gif]
