Default Dogs and the Magnum

Hey all, sitll anxiously awaiting my RT. How is the Magnum with dogs? One of the first things on my list is the rear bumper guard to keep away scratches when my dog climbs in and out. Any thoughts or experiences to share?

Since my wife doesn't really like the magnum, if I said she scratched my magnum with her purse would she be qualified as a dog? If so, dogs are tough on the paint!

Sorry animal lovers, but the only dog I would allow into my Magnum RT would have to be stuffed and mounted.

They make pickup trucks for dogs.

No offense meant, just not an animal lover.

MagnumRT, I dont' blame you a bit. But my reality is that I need to haul my Bulldog around every once in a while. My hope is that the cargo liner, bumper guard and some carefully laid towels will keep my RT pristine. Wish me luck.

i have an american bulldog weighing a bit over 100 lbs. that i like to take with me as much as possible. he is really good in cars otherwise i wouldnt take him. i'll warn u, the back is really high for a dog to access unless he can jump(then i'd definitely be worried about scratches). otherwise ur best off picking him up and putting him in. the exit will be tough too cuz he (and most dogs) gets real excited when its time to get out. unless u can lay down protection on the bumper before opening the hatch u mite get more scratches. i find pulling the down the back seats and using the side doors the best to prevent scratches. i've had my car a lil over a month and taken him in the car bout 10 times without a scratch!

I still have unpleasant memories of the Boston Bulldog I owned many, many years ago. As soon as he got into the car, he would put his flat face against the windows and sloober all over the glass. Plus he would sleep under our bed at night and fart, PHEW!

No more critters for us, at least for now.

DOG OWNERS BE CAREFUL!

When you fold the back seats down there is a gap between the back area and the back seats. It is enpugh room for a dog to get their paw caught in a twist or breal it. Roll up a bath towel and place it in the creavice. One thing I like about the back windows is that they roll down flush. Most cars I have seen keep the window up a little and it hits the dogs chin.

Happy Travels with best friend!
