Default Strange Trans. problem

My Magnum has had three strange transmissionepisodes. When I first start it up and put it in gear, it won't go anywhere. It acts like it is neutral. I try it in reverse and drive both. When I finally get it to move it just creeps, sort of like you have it in fourth gear when it should be in first. And you have to give it quite a bit of gas to get it moving at all.
I did just have to have o-rings because of a transmission leak. Would that have anything to do with it.? I had it to the shop and they can find nothing.
I have to add that between the times it acts up, it drives normally. Never know when it is going to happen. Any ideas anyone?
Thank You B.J.

Same problem you have tryingrestartingthe car works for me.. Electronic problem. Looks bad when you take out co-workers or customers and your 35k car can;t even get into gear.

I had a Faulty Wiring Harness between the Main Computer and the Transmission Computer. 1st Fix was to replace a Mechanical Part. (Valve Body I believe) 2nd Fix was to replace the Transmission Computer Module. Last fix before they lemoned it was to take apart the Dash and replace the Wiring Harness. Pinched wires where the Parking Brake Lever is at. They had it for more than 45 days, but the car is so beautiful and my color was discontinued, so I hung in there and kept it. Great Car. Great Service. Great Forum, so you can talk intelligently with Service. Hope this helps...

Thank you for your input. I got in it this morning and no go again. I restarted 5 times before it would move. It was 8% here this morning in Jersey and I didn't much feel like going out either. However. I am P. O'd. Am I supposed to just live with this? Dealer does not want to talk about it. He says he would like to fix the problem, but does not see any problem.
Talk about first year. This car only has 15K and has had a broken rocker arm, oil pump failed, rear hatch door opener replaced, back leather seat torn(never sat in either), o-rings replaced(leaking tranny fluid), now this s@@@. I love the car but how much can a body take.
Just don't know what to do now.
Thanks, B.J.

Bummer,
Only a suggestion... Take your car down to the Dealer. Park it there on Friday Night. (Assuming you working during the week) Go to the Dealer on Saturday morning and show the Sales Manager (unless you are lucky enough for the Service Manager to be there on the Weekend) how the Car does not start. Once it does it in the presence of the Dealer and they ackowledge it, they can't deny your future claims if it keeps on happening. (Well, they can, but this will put you in a better position) But once it doesn't start, just once, leave it there until it starts EVERY time without fail. I mean, that is why you bought a car, any car, so you can get in and drive somewhere.

Also, with all of the Repairs you have listed and then this issue, what kind of Lemon Laws do you have in your state? Sounds to me like you should be able to Pro-Rate your Magnum and get another car if you wish...

Magnum 05 R/T same here I live in Jersey and I have noticed only a few times when I go out start my car in the cold *** mornings if I put it in reverse the car doesn't go anywhere. Doesn't happen if I let the car warm up only when I get in start it and put it in reverse. Like I said before doesn't happen all the time only three times. I feel PO'd about it too because of course when you take it to the dealer it doesn't do it and if they cant find the problem which meansthere is no problem or they just think your stupid. So until it happens again and becomes a problem I will stick it out. Love my car.

Fortunately, in So. Cal. it doesn't get soo cold.
Then again, I just turned 1600 miles.

On cruise control @ 68 MPH, started down a grade and part way down, the RPM jumped from 2000 to 3500.
Kinda freaked me out. I hit the brake to disengauge cruise. I don't think the car sped up, just did a weird down shift.

So, was "Hal" trying to slow the car down?
Or is this another tranny quirk?

I've never known a cruise control to do anything but back off the throttle setting headed down a hill.

BTW. Installed a Gibson cat back, and I can hear the shifts now. This thing sure does like to shift alot in local traffic.
