Default TRUE GAS MILAGE BY THE GOVERMENT

Seems a little more realistic. I average 16.8 in town and just under 19 on the highway.

The old EPA is more accurate to me (provided i'm not constantly flooring it anyways), normal driving I get about 17/ city 26 highway, and I drive probably 40% city, 60% highway, which would be my combined rating around 22ish.

I get about thesame as Magnum555, 17 city and 19 highway.

Hey Shlitz. Is yours 26 mpg thethe onboard computer calculationor is that your own manual calculation?
I drive about 75% freeway and 25% city and I have to drive 2 days worth of freeway miles (without any hills) to get my computer calculated reading to increase from 17 up to 19 mpg.
Does your onboard reading acutally display 26 mpg when your driving on the freeways?

If so ...more power to ya.

Sorry, I ain't buyin' 26mpg. Maybe once you're rolling on a perfectly flat interstate or slight downgrade, but no way it's holding at 26mpg with a hemi.
By the way, once that website started describing "greenhouse emissions" I immediately doubted all the other info on it.

If I am driving strictly highway in the 60 mph range I will hit 25mpg, in the city I will usually hit 16 to 17, but I do drive at least 50 50 on my daily commute, to bad I do slower speeds due to traffic in the morning on the highway than on city roads! And I have the 5.7!

Yes, flat road at 60mph you will show 25mpg or more IF you reset you mpg reading on the computer. However, as soon as you speed up or pull any kind of grade it's going to drop. If you're averaging 22mpg you must have a very light foot andnot be enjoying all the power the hemi has to offer. As previously said though, more power to ya!

26MPG is manualy calculated, I don't have the EVIC option on mine, that was on a long 350+ mile trip averaging 70 MPG, the Magnum is perfectly capable of high fuel economy like that if you're not mashing the gas pedal every few mins, just get on the highway, put on the cruise control and go. Also there are people that have gotten better than that, seen as high as27-28 with a RWD Hemi.

Now i'll admit I usualy mash the gas pedal more cause well, it's fun, but gas was like $3.50 at the time, so was driving normaly instead of more agressivly, on the flip side getting on it to much it's dipped down into the 12-13 MPG range as well, it's all how you drive it.

And actualy that's within the old EPA's estimates, average is 17/25, but when you read the smaller print below it's states the actual range is 14-20 city and 21-29 highway on a Magnum R/T RWD.
