Can someone PLEASE tell me what happened to that special sound I used to hear when I started up my MOPAR'S?

I take it that your refering to the classic V8 starter sound, like how it winds down after it's started. The newer and smaller units are completely different, I have one of these lightweight high torque Mopar Performance starter on my Roadrunners 440 and it spins the engine over far faster than the older and far heavier factory starter. I sometimes miss the sound, but it starts much better and quicker now.

I'm the same as RR71 and have the smaller starter. That sound was unique. You could tell whenever a Mopar started up from anywhere in the parking lot. Maybe we should have digital audio playback of the old starter run through our stereos whenever we hit the ignition switch.

Hahaha. I just settle for the sound of power after it starts.
