Police, HP or 350 New Yorker the only difference was a hotter cam, stiffer springs, tri-metal rod and main bearings and the carb. Oh, and the distributor advance curb. I'll go with the guy who said that the earlier blocks had mucho core shift. I know that for a fact. If you find a block that is apart, look at the boss around the front cam bearing. If its concentric with the cam bearing bore the block has minimal core shift.

Not that I am selling them at the moment, but I have 3 440 Interceptors still in the 1972 Police cars that they were originally installed. What do I have here and what are they worth? The Tranny is a 720 or something like that. 2 of the 3 move freely and 1 appears to be seized. Email me at Deerjrky@yahoo.com Thanks

22'S : I have a 440 new rebuild never fired steel crank and all good parts long block. With single 4 bbl alum. intake or with chrome high rise tunnel ram (brand new) and two (brand new still in box) edellbrock 650 cfm carbs #1405 This motor is balanced I also have a new distributor for this also. Its all hooked to a 4 speed with bellhousing and new clutch and pressure plate. New SANDERSON block hugger headers ,chrome water pump . some new in the box valve covers ... its setting in my half finnished street rod.. NO front end on car . So it will be easy to pull the motor and tranny. Terry Moon (585) 534-5111
