But I've heard people say that the auto tranny won't be able to handle the turbo....True?

There are really no upgrades for the manual trans. There are tons of upgrades to build a atx. I think the MTX is stronger than the ATX stock. But I agree the ATX can be made much stronger than the MTX.

No that isn't true at all. A sotck ATX can handle quite a bit of boost.

In fact, the ATX is more suited to a turbo for several reasons, one of which is the gears are longer, which will keep you in boost much longer than an MTX. An ATX is more efficient than an MTX because it's electronically controlled. To name a few.

<----Is an ATX and has no problem helping out other ATXers.

<---- Also has a race built ATX, If you want pointers, lemme know. There's a misconception about MTX's I could clear up. Neither ATX or MTX are better than the other, but they do have their advantages over the other and flaws.
I'd be interested in learning more about your setup, we have been back and forth about swaping to mtx in project neon. but seen as the problems that we were having seem to have disapeared with a filter and fluid change, I am kinda lean toward sticking with the auto. Plus we plan on going turbo so auto is a much better choice.

On other note swaping from atx to mtx in a neon is hella easy. With knowlegeable people and the proper tools and all parts on hand it can be done in about 4 hrs. (Unless you plan on drinking then add about 2 days ).
Send me a PM when you want to know something. I'm always for helping felow ATXers.
