Try and get some vice-grips below the boot (so its not pulling on the wire itself) then give it a good pull...the first time I had to take my plug wires off they wouldnt give an inch either. Just be careful not to damage the wires or anything.

I'm sure you probably already tried this, but twist from side to side as you are pulling up. I didn't have too big of a problem getting my stockers off of there.

they can be bullheaded about coming off. the above mentioned twisting and pulling worked for me. i guess worse comes to worse youll pull the wire apart.

I also have a 2004 and was able to pull off the wires... (in answer to the orig. question...)

on the above, I bought a set of lifetime guarantee plug wires and 4 Champions plugs for my 2004 SE for right around $30 at Auto Zone... so that's what it costs to do it yerself...don't know what else is involved with a so-called "tune up" ...but for the do it yourself change, keep in mind you need a really long (deep) extension for yer plug socket to get all the way down to unscrew the plugs...

I hope they did more than just the plugs and wires for $350.00 about $50.00 should have covered parts.

Let see 50 bucks in parts and for tools you need
3 bucks for the spark plug gap checker
10 bucks socket for the spark plugs
16 buck for a ratchet
10 bucks for 10" extension
1 buck for anti-seize
1 buck for dielectric grease

so that is $50 tools and $41 for tools that you can use over and over. Although you'll need new packets of lube each time though.

How to get them off, my 04 at 10K needed the twist and pull and twist and pull and twist and pull and twist and pull and twist and pull and twist and pull and twist and pull and etc..... till they come off. They Dielectric grease makes this a non-issue next time.

no doubt man. bit i immagine they changed the oil and rotated the tires too, right?
even a cheapsocket set that includes a sparkplug socket will only run you like 20 bucks, plus you may need to pick up a longer extension to get to them... maybe 5 or 10 bucks. remember it dosent all have to be craftsman tools ya know. as for the plugs you can get them for a couple bucks a peice and maybe 20 or 30 for wires (going off memory here). a cheapie gapper can be bought at the counter for 99 cents. and as mentioned the anti-seize is always a good idea, it will make the next time go a lot more smoothly. and remember not to over tighten the plugs!!!

i cant believe how much people are overcharged for ****. a girl my wife worked with got charged like 300 bucks for new brakes on her SXT. i was like DAMN!!! i would have changed them out for free at my house, just bring the parts.
