Horsepower=Money
There are mods that you can do to help increase horse power like CAI (cold air intakes) and exhaust mods that are relatively cheap under 200 that you can do yourself. Im not sure how much you know about engines so something like headers and cams you might want to be done by a professional. Start with the basics and work your way up..Good Luck

thanks for the info guys, well i actually looked under the hood of the car today and was really disapointed with the air intake. it looked flimsy. first off the air filter was ancient, and the rubber piece that goes on the outside that kinda is sopposed to be a berrier againts small dirt getting in was totaly falling off. obviesly driver mantinance would have prevented that but none the less. i was thinking about a cold air intake, but i guess i will have to see. but once again thanks for all the help and by the way what is the hp?thanks

I would not worry about the mileage, there is someone on here that is putting a turbo on a 160,000 plus motor. Its a fairly strong motor. Depending on the money situation there is a lot you can do, from CAI, exhuast, cam, header, removing cat, all the way up to a turbo, without any internal engine mods.

Default RE: questions???

thanks for all the help once again. i think that my first mod if you want to call it that will be making the car more servicable. i need to change the fuel filter, spark plugs and try to keep the rust down. i think that my ball berings might be going and mabey my struts. every time i hit a small bump i hear a thud on the driver and passanger front wheels. i mean i got the thing safteyd but i think that they were pretty shotty, considering that the air filter has not been changed at all in 130k. i'll keep you guys and gals updated. once again thanks a lot for all your help.

no its the actual cam. They make a #10, pretty close to stock, a #12 good cam, and a #14 which I have heard mixed things about, some say for turbo, some say its great for N/A too.
