Is it possible to switch out the gauges from a neon se, the one with just the speedometer, Fuel gague and a temp gage, with one with a Tach from like an RT or SRT?

 

From what I've read you can, however you have to switch out your entire cluster from your SE to the RT or SRT. Your mileage will be whatever it reads on the replacement cluster. They should be plug and play. And I believe the dealer is the only one who can reflash your cluster to read the correct mileage, and I don't believe it is very cheap for them to do it. I had my cluster replaced by them under warranty and they didn't reflash my cluster.

Well if they did, they reflashed it with the wrong mileage then. I made a note of what it was before and after they swapped clusters.

 

They must have cheated or the milage was close, cause thats something along the lines of odometer fraud.

 

Yeah, I believe the clusters must of been close. But whatever, that was a long time ago and I know exactly how many miles are on the car. And my guages work so thats what matters.

 

yeah I mean if it was 500 or 1000 miles or somethin they probally would not have bothered, I man if you were buyin a car would you care if it had 98,000 or 99,000

 

Yeah there was about a 300 mile difference between the two, but I still would of thought they would of reflashed it.

 

i ahve an 03 se , so working at the junk yard i pulled a cluster from an 02 plymoth and it worked just fine, but the milage was off, it was all for the tach. eventually my girl bought me a mini tach to mount in the pillar so i could rid of the 02 cluster cause it was abou 13,000 miles off. plus it makes the car go faster like this lol

 

was ther anything to denote that that was not the orignal milage, like a star or somthing?
