I have some subs in my car and the trunk ratteling is very annoying from time to time. I took the plastic off around the plate so it doesnt rattel. also the hook inside the trunk that holds the trunk down can be adjusted. adjust it a few mm down and it will pull the trunk down tighter. This is just a tip if you dont want anything vibrating. It also sounds better inside the car.

 

also another tip, if the above doesnt fix the rattles like in my case.. i took a small, very small, maybe square inch piece of dynamat and wrapped it around the "hook" inside the trunk that the trunk lid latch clamps down onto. note this isn't for a professional LOOK but for fixing rattles, it did thw trick for me.

 

groundcontrol, how can you adjust the hook down a few mm?

 

i dont no if its the same on your 98 but i have a plastic piece covering it. i cliped it off and there is a screw. loosen it and pull the hook down a tiny bit, then tighten the screw back up. I have to shut my trunk harder for it to close but it worked nice. untill i sold my system.
