Default How fast should my car be?

I haven't had an opportunity to take my car to the track yet to time my 1/4 time, but I'll list what few mods I have here and see what you all thing my 1/4 time should be.

96 SOHC, ATX:

No A/C
Thrush Glasspack muffler
3.0 CAI
Sparkplugs overgapped to .040

That's all I have done for performance, really. I have noticed, though, that it is much faster than it ever was when I first got it. I'm ~guessing~ I can break into the upper 15's??? Judging by what the one guy posted his time at the track of being 16.2 with a slightly modded 3rd gen with, if I understood correctly, the NGC beating down on him, even with a mtx, I would guess I could atleast keep with him if not get under the 16.0 mark. Am I overexaggerating my car?

You're way overexaggerating. You'll be lucky to break 17.

im guesing you have a coupe? if so...if you pull your interior, running 14 inch undersized stock tires, and a 100 shot, you might see 15s with an automatic. i raced a sebring with your engine last year with a manual tranny..rebuilt head..ram air..cam gears, with a manual tranny, 14 inch low pros...the entire interior ripped out...no radio, nothing...with a 55 shot i ran 16.0s with the bottle turned on in 2nd and 3rd gear....without the nitrous it ran a 16.40...with everything else listed, and good traction and a good launch...i have seen a 96 ish neon sedan run low 18s...ive seen the auto neon coupe run in the mid 17s...i wish you the best of luck...

I too, think you're a little optimistic. That being said though I do need to point out that the Gen1 is significantly lighter than a gen2 and loads lighter than a Sebring.

a little optimistic? youre saying that the sebring i ran woudlnt whomp on him? id buy him a beer if his neon would keep up with my 2nd gen stratus, also with an automatic, and it only ran 16.1s...

I call BS on that one. I might believe it if its a manual...but no way with an automatic.

Even with it being lighter it still isn't going to make that BIG of a difference. The first gen is what 2500lbs? So my 2nd gen is right about 2700, probably about 2800lbs with me in the car. So you have maybe .2-.3 tenths faster then a second gen from weight....not going to get you into 15s.
