Default wiring my amp to the battery..

hi i have a 2005 dodge neon sxt with a srt body kit on it and im having trouble finding a hole to run the thick cable from the car battery to the trunk to power my amp. i tried getting it through the same hole the fuse cables go threw but couldnt make it fit. im just wondering if someone could shed some light on how i can accomplish this without drilling a hole. any help is appreciated and any pictures would help also.

thanks -Rob

You may end up drilling a new hole through the firewall...most install kits come with a grommet to run the wire through that you can snap into a drilled hole in the firewall.

or if its a huge wire you can run it under the car up to the trunk so incase if anything happens the inside of the car wont fry

how thick of cable is it? i ran 0 through mine...my car was first gen but its on the drivers side up towards the clutch pedal and to the left... you can see it through the engine bay also...and running it under the car aint a bad idea..and most wire has heat resistant coating so you should be fine

I ran my brothers 2 gauge through the door, just thru the hole you see with the hood up and the drivers door open. had some extra room.

The cable should be able to handle some heat aslong as its not touching the exhaust or directly on the engine you should be okay, if theres any spot you are worried about put it in loom or heat tape, but there shouldnt be. Also drilling a new hole with a grommet is what i would recondmend. under the car is not a bad idea too aslong as you dont drive down rough roads where bottoming out might be an issue.
