My 03 dodge neon showed signs of what i would call slipping and then i was comming to a stop and tried to shift gears and it wouldnt go in to gear, waited 10 min (turned it off so it would cool down) and restarted then was able to get the car home although the drive from there was only about 10 min. it did it again luckily we were in front of our house>>> (wew).
Tried starting it today and it goes in to gear fine but when trying to move the car it felt very rough so i didn't go any further yet..... transmission fluid i hope?

Also, if i have to jack the car up to check trans fluid level -shouldn't the car be sitting level?

 

hate to break it to ya but fluid isnt gonna be the problem.

sounds like your in need of a new clutch.

Insist on a Luk clutch when you decide to replace

and for checking fluid levels if your concerned that the car isnt sitting level then raise the rear as well
