Hey... i just bought a 1995 neon sport and i was wondering if it was a SOHC or DOHC

 

SOHC, 2.0 ltr, should do 0-60 in about 8.8 seconds....[&:]

 

then what model is DOHC?

 

DOHC was an option on the "sport" and the "Highline" in '95....

 

BTW, you need to change your timing belt, pulley, and your head gasket if the previous owner didn't and it's got more than around, say, 60,000 miles on it...there are lots of Neon Maintenance Websites out there as well....

 

how do i know if i have a DOHC?

 

Look at the valve cover...it should have something like "2.0 16v" on it....

 

on the cover it says 16 valve so does that mean i have a DOHC?

and i dunno whats been done to this car.... im in canada.... the car seems to run really good. its a 95 and it only has like 90,000 KM on it

 

That's 4 valves per cylinder, takes 2 cams to do that...yup, you got one.

 

cool that mean its faster then a SOHC? And is it rare for a 4 door car to be dohc?
