I have a 95 neon (sohc) and i heard that you can swap the motor with a stratus motor 2.4L as long as you take the a/c coil out is this true? And if it is what about the dohc stratus motor. Somebody help me out here please!

It will work, but your gonna need to do a lot of custom work. Its not just gonna pop in there.

I think it would be a hell of a lot easier and more worth your while to swap your current motor out for the motor from an SRT-4. The SRT-4 motor is a 2.4L engine as well and can be turbo-charged in its stock configuration. Go to a local junkyard and see if you can get your hands on a junked SRT-4. Make sure that it has been written off due to an accident and not just abandoned, that indicates something is probably wrong with the motor and nobody wants to put the work into repairing it.

Default I need advice on how to fix my CD player in my Neon...

I just got my 2000 dodge neon ES for xmas.....the cd player camed with the AM/FM reciever...i'm a big music fan..but everytime I put a cd in the cd player, the cd player pops the cd back out saying "ER Disc", no matter which cd I use....I thought maybe the cd player needed to be clean like sometimes my dvd player in my house do...so I brought a cd lens cleaner and put it into my cd player but it did the same thing that it does to my cds..,,popping it out saying "Error Disc". Do you have any suggestions on how I could get my cd player to play my cds?

HELPWANTED

PS...my baby is a used car so it didn't come with the manual...

so will the SRT motor fit on like a glove or will i need to customize under the hood? But you know im not afraid to do a little custom just as long as its not a **** load where it's like insane you know. So if anybody knows a good upgrade motor swap for me let me know. ( anybody think a swap for the dohc engine is best? Or are the cam heads interchangeable?)

Its a time consuming conversion. there are a couple websites that have step by step procedures to follow, and all the parts you will need. I would just google the 2.4L conversion of a 2.0L neon

The SRT is by no means a drop in for the '95. There is a ton of work involved, and you will need the motor, instrument cluster, PCM, and every wiring harness you can salvage from the donor car.

The 2.4L DOHC Stratus/Cirrus/Caravan is pretty much a drop-in. You'll need/want aftermarket motor mounts, the bulge hood from a 1st gen DOHC, and you'll have to do some creative grinding if you want to keep your a/c and p/s. Minor wiring changes, but can be run from a stock '95 PCM (DOHC, preferably), and you'll need larger injectors. There's plenty of good info out there on this swap. And the 2.4L takes very nicely to a turbo. 250+ HP on the stock block and upgraded fuel pump isn't all that hard, which I believe is more than a stock SRT-4 motor... Upgrade to better pistons (stock SRT-4 pistons do fine and are cheap) and rods (SRT-4 rods are flimsy compared to nice aftermarket units), good fuel management, and some tuning time, and 400+ HP is just as easy, relatively speaking.

Best of luck!

what about the sohc stratus 2.4L engine, will it make the car faster than the stock 2.0 sohc?

Yep, that it will. However the SRT-4 2.4L turbo swap will not cost that much more and will give you a lot more HP as well as a lot more potential HP.
