Default Need Help, Engine Stumbling

Ok, here's my problem, when my car is sitting at Idle, the engine seems to "stumble" when accelerating normally from red light or stop sign engine stumbles and sometimes has a slight backfire. It seems like the fuel is loading up. I changed the spark plugs, still doing it. Just not as bad. Any ideas from anyone?

do each step one at a time so you don't go spending a bunch of money when you don't need to. Change your air filter, change the spark plug wires, run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through your tank, change your coil pack.

It's coming up on time for me to change my spark plugs and wires too, so I'll be doing all of this sometime this week.

someone told me that it may be a vacum lead, don't have a clue how to check for that. I check to see if there were any codes but theres none... I'll try some injector cleaner tomarrow, or a may just pull the injectors and clean them myself.

Stupid question, I was going to put some msd super conductor wires on but I can only find them for the srt-4, those will fit won't they?

It could be a vacum leak, but you would probally have a high idle if that was the case. It could be a bad IAT sensor.

it has high idle, but only at startup when it's cold outside. That's normal isn't it

I have a similar post in Neon\1st Gen titled :"Stalling - hesitation - stuttering - Please help! "..
Here is the link https://dodgeforum.com/m_399165/tm.htm

Your problem sounds similar to mine(?).

Either way you may want to check out the response that the folks have given.
Hopefully it might be of help

And.. If you solve the problem, I would love to know how you resolved it.

Thanks!

Well, I went to my parents house today, Dad got out his scanner, Pulling a p0302, I think. It's a Misfire detected in #2 cylinder. Got to talking to some friends of mine, they told me that it could be a bad valve spring, what do you guys think?

my 2000 neon had rough idle pretty much the hole time i owned it...dealer said it was normal..... would get to the point of sounding like it was going to stall.... had this problem up untill i traded it in for a srt..... had 75000 miles on it when i traded it.
before trading it in i checked my spark plugs......and one of them was coated with fresh oil........i thing maybe a bad valve guide.......my car also would chatter when first starting it on cool mornings.. but other wise drove fine

Your '03's powertrain warranty is still in effect, isn't it? Take it to the dealer!
