Dodge NeonThe sport compact car that took the world by storm. the Dodge Neon. Depending on the trim level you get, this sporty ride has something to offer everyone.
So a friend asked me for a tire iron today. I went to grab teh one out of my wheel well. And what do I find?? Standing water in there. The rest of the trunk is dry as can be, I can not even find a small trail down. Does anyone know what could have caused this? (Yes it did rain very hard this past weekend, but the car was parked in teh driveway and not driven) And what can I do to fix it?
That same thing happened to me last time I took the tire out to check it the well was all sticky and full of crap. I just used duct tape to seal things up and it's fine now, but don't leave it or your well will rust out.
i got tired of the water sitting in there so i drilled a couple small holes in the well for it to drain out...i had one of my cars sitting outside all witer long and when i removed the tire there was a huge ice chunk in there, so once it got warm i put a bucket under the car and drilled the wholes, removed 6 gallons of water from in there, plus had to get new carpet and tire cover because of mold...
Yes I had a 97 Neon with the same problem, and I drilled 2 holes inteh bottom of that one. Was hoping that a) they had fixed the issue and I would not have to worry, or b) there was a better fix. Oh well
Thats funny, my car has never had the leakage problem. I know nothings been done to correct it considering the car has been in my family, in my house even since I was 5 or 6 or however old I was in 94
