Nitrous 4 my Neon....
Ok, heres the situation my neon is pretty much stock except for a cold air intake and high flow muffler. Should I finish with all the bolt on parts like header, high flow cat, under drive before i get nitrous?
I was thinking about a 50 HP shot would do, what do you guys think?

RE: Nitrous 4 my Neon....
A well thought out nitrous setup can be a great bang for the buck. I presonally don't care for the NOS setup, I like the Nitrous Express deal with the GenX safety stuff. Even though it says you don't need it, a better fuel pump (Walbro 255 lph) is a great idea, as is a timing retard unit like the MSD DIS-2. With all that, a clutch that can handle it, and some time at the dyno, a 75 HP shot would get you farther than bolt-on's ever will, and only run $1500-2000 or so. With the progressive controller and serious dyno tuning (along with the fuel pump and timing reatrd, of course), you could run a progressive 100 HP shot - it's already been done on the stock bottom end... reliably...
But for now, a 50 shot, and bolt-on's as they come will probably do fine. If you think $1500 is too much to spend for a measly 50-75 HP, you haven't priced how much it would take to get your motor to 200ish HP naturally aspirated... I could do it for about $8k, stock to finish... Frankly, a $3000 turbo kit would be the way I'd go if I had it to do all over again.
