Well Im looking at the Hahn turbo kits for about 2,200 bux. What kind of times would i running with a:

2002 Dodge Neon (Base Model 132HP) Automatic
Cold Air Intake
Exhaust Muffler
16" Motegi Rims
205/50/16 Tires

Quarter mile times for a stock neon was a 16.8 I believe?

If I can run like 13's I would be happy, i mean it'd probably be better just buying a Eagle Talon but I really like the neon

 

well, if i were you, i would re-enforce the engine, Ie. valve springs ect. Just so it can handle a turbo.

 

it cant handle 5-8 Psi with stock components?

 

please tell me ur switching tranny to standard. automatic turbo is gay and useless

 

agree to disagree about the automatics with turbos. a lot of cars have turbos that are automatic. my dad had a 1986? cougar with a turbo and that thing was fast as hell so i dunno wat ur talking about. the turbo would be so much more consistant with an automatic, plus im not lookin' for a race car...jus lookin to be runnin in the 13's

 

You wont see 13's with a stock Neon motor. There isnt a way to do it.

You might get into low 15's....but thats about it without going the route of upgrading a bunch of the internals, exhaust, and a few others....

The SRT-4 motor isnt the same stock 2.4L that you can find in a bunch of Chrysler's vehicles. It's been built up to handle the power.

 

i find that really hard to believe that adding a turbo i'd only be running in the 15's

thats an extra 75-100hp, i could run at least low 14's

change of subject a little bit, i'm just trying to find the best way for my neon to beat two cars (AT THE TRACK 1/4)

2004? Pontiac G6 200HP

What could i do to beat them???

 

I would suggest the chill factory kit. Its a little more money, but worth it. That will bring you where you wanna be.

Ok, so you think that you are going to shave more then 2 seconds off your car with JUST a turbo? You need to seriously do your homework. Your car runs roughly a 16.5-16.8 stock....adding just a turbo will most likely put you mid-15's. The stock SRT-4 Neon only does 13.9-14.1. That motor is BUILT. Your Neon is stock and an automatic...you wont be seeing that kind of power increase without doing more to the motor.

Flat out, you wont realize any faster times then low to mid 15's with what you want to do. You are better served doing an SRT-4 motor/tranny swap, then you are trying to build the motor with a turbo.
